A lot of people on here got it wrong saying L killed Canibus with Ripper Strikes Back. When it came out most people said it was wack and said Canibus won. Even the radio station Hot 97 didn’t think Ripper Strikes Back wasn’t that good. This dropped when I was in High School and everyone was talking about how Canibus killed L.

You didn't understand the reference to Common and Cube. Canibus wasn't name dropping to bring anyone else into the beef. He was referencing Common's diss track to Ice Cube called, "The Bitch in Yoo".

Fun Fact about Canibus: He actually served in the military 🎖️ in the Army branch & I believe he completed Basic Training in Boot Camp but was later "dishonorably discharged" not long afterwards. I don't remember if he was deployed overseas, if he did any tours or sent into actual combat but he definitely served for a short while. Some know about this fact but many don't. Most likely die hard loyal Canibus superfans. Personally, I always found that to be interesting about him.

It was my most formative years as a hip hop fan, but I still think prime canibus (2000 B.C promo era) was as good as it gets. Black Thought surpassed him as a writer, but Can-I-Bus had that mean starving artist hunger in his voice that really made him the most vicious at the time in my opinion.
