The crowd even changed the words from "je t'aime" = "I love you" to "on t'aime" = "we love you". Everyone loves Lara except the management of Celine Dion, who fought her starting a career in the USA in even threatening managers of musical stages who planned to do concerts with her. She quit trying it and returned to the French-speaking world, where her fans learned of her disappointment and planned to surprise her on this concert. Lara said, this experience restored her will to proceed.

@@toddstevens13 actually Dion and Lara were both equally amazing. The issue was the producer who became Dion's husband later. There was obvious favoritism which is bad, but not even close to as bad as it really was: Dion husband started courting her when she was 16... This dude was a total creep way, way older - idk by how much but when this happened I remembered he already had gray hair and kinda looked like this dude that was the cause of the #metoo movement.

One guy that we forget too often in this is the pianist. He was able to play beautifully with the crowd and Lara singing not at the same time and pace. What a legend !

I have to give a little background by this song. Lara Fabian was going through a very difficult time personally & professionally. Because of this, a group of her fans decided to surprise her and sing her own song to her. And the whole stadium chimed in. Can you imagine that maybe 10.000 fans singing your song to lift you up? "Je t'aime" means I love you, but her fans sing to her "on t' aime" and that means we love you. This singing for her by her fantastic fans; made her very emotional towards the end of the song. Absolutely magical and touching to see how this crowd was lifting her spirit up by doing this. Later she said that because of this: she knew that life was worth living further!

This song "Je T'aime" (I love you) is Lara’s original song, and probably is her most famous and well-known song around the world (along with “Adagio”). This video is from Lara’s concert “Nue” in Paris in 2002. It really shows how much Lara’s fans love and support her. Here is a short story behind that performance: Lara had some serious problems in her professional and personal life at that time (2000-2002); she even had suicidal thoughts. Her fans new about that and they wanted to express their love and support to Lara on her concert in Paris. A group of Lara’s fans approached her pianist and musical director Pierre Grimard before the concert and agreed that they will begin to sing that song "Je T'aime" before Lara. When they sang for her they changed the words «Je t'aime" (I love you) to “On t’aime” which means “We love you”. The entire audience (more than 6000 people!) sang for her. Can you imagine this? Lately Lara said that during this moment she realized the beauty of life, and that it’s really worth living it.

I'm French and not a Lara Fabian fan by a very far shot but I can't dismiss the intensity of the love moving from the crowd to Lara and back to them. This is the goal of music, and when it's done this way one can only bow down in front of it.

To my knowledge, Lara didn't perform "Je Suis Malade" on her Nue concert tour. She performed it on "From Lara with Love (2000)", "En Toute Itimité (2003)" and a plethora of other occasions, but I do not find on the full concert track of "Nue" from 2002.

What makes it special is that it is a love song that is meant to be sung for the audience, but as the audience then sings for her, which then shows a mutual love between them. True love. And that honesty from the audience and Lara touches me. A once in a lifetime experience that we have fortunately been allowed to experience. How must it not have been and be in that concert hall when so many years later we can be as moved as many of us have become, by and watch that video.

Oh and btw, Lara was having issues in her personal life and wasn't feeling good so in the song "je t'aime" means i love you, and instead of singing that, the crowd sings "on t'aime" which translates to "we love you". Truly beautiful❤️

The piano player knew that the audience wanted to sing to her. She was a having hard time in her life and they wanted to let her know that they loved her. J’taime means I love you. They are singing on taime which means we love you.

The more one hears about the rivalry between Lara and Celine it becomes obvious that is a one way rivalry. All of it is on Celine.. They are both so beautifully talented one almost feels sorry for Celine's insecurity. Wonder if she has the loyal, adoring fans Lara obviously has? Which lasted more than 14 years. it was a rock opera sung in French. to come back to the beautiful Lara she speaks 4 languages and 12 languages which she sings with a natural emotion she has the ability to put herself in the skin of the character she sings. I think she deserves to be known if not more than Celine Dion who sings born. It started the same year. I also love Céline but what I find unfortunate and even selfish on her part. Years ago, Lara dreamed of singing with her, she met and Celine, never invited her to one of her shows. Lara even wrote to Céline who never answered her. and it is beautiful and well received, this letter that Céline reads in front of her fans on TV. why do this to him. Her heart was broken as she broke up with her boyfriend, a wonderful singer and handsome guy Patrick Fieri. Lara even thought about the worst thing. And this performance literally brought her back to life. "It's worth living for!" her friend and songwriter Rick Alisson told her backstage. The words in the song that Lara sang in translation means "I love you". But the audience sang to her "We love you!" or "You are loved" to be more precise. The song was created by a very famous composer, Alice Donna and the first interpreter was Serge Lama a very famous French singer. Lara Fabian made her success in France where she lived a lot. Her interpretation is very inspired because she lived with Serge Lama and this concert took place a few weeks after their breakup. That's why this song means so much to her.
