Our First Time in Jakarta, Indonesia left was utterly shocked, amazed and absolutely thrilled. We met some of the most friendliest and warm hearted locals on our first day in Jakarta and roamed around the bustling streets of this amazing city.
We visited the national monument of Jakarta, also known as Monas, Istiqlal Mosque and Kota Tua and were shocked with the incredible history and modernity of this city. Gado-Gado = salad made with slightly boiled, blanched, or steamed vegetables served with a peanut sauce dressing and with hard-boiled eggs, potatoes, bean sprouts, tofu, tempeh (cooked fermented soybean caklet) and krupuk ( cracker made from starch or animal skin) Soto soups made with meat and vegetables, each region with own variation Sop buntut is a delicious and hearty oxtail soup Rujak is a traditional Javanese fruit and vegetable salad dish y made with sliced fresh fruits and vegetables served with a spicy sugar palm dressing. Rujak tastes tangy, sweet, and spicy thanks to the dressing made from ground chilli, palm sugar, shrimp paste, and peanuts. Rendang, a meat dish made with beef or others which is slow-cooked for several hours in coconut milk and spices until it becomes tender. Bakso - Indonesian springier meatball made from finely ground beef mixed with a small amount of tapioca flour and salt. Siomay fish dumplings served with a peanut sauce, a derivative of Chinese shumai Tumpeng is a Javanese cone-shaped rice dish served with a multitude of sides on a banana-leaf and many others

Here some fav local dish/ signature dish in some big cities u must try (in case u will go there): Bandung: batagor, seblak (if u like spicy), peyeum, baso tahu, es teler, es goyobod, etc Yogyakarta: gudeg, tengkleng gajah, ayam goreng suharti, eat in angkringan, nasi pecel, mie godog, etc Surabaya: rawon (it's the best soup in the world. Rank 1 (Taste Altas)), bebek goreng, dimsum and seafood, rujak cingur, sate madura, etc

Hello welcome and yes indeed you guys come to our country on the right moment. We will celebrate our Independence Day on 17th August. What you saw at Monumen Nasional is what look to be part of national ceremony celebrated and broadcasted nationwide. That is why you get blocked when want to past certain areas or gate of the monument for security reason

Hai sir and miss, if you want to know Indonesia in short time, you can go to "taman mini Indonesia Indah" or Indonesia little garden in english. Located in east jakarta. If you want to relaxing in good bay, you can go to "pulau seribu" or 1000 island. Many island you can visit, but 1 most popular island is "pulau kelor" This place in north jakarta. If you want to try hiking, you can go to bogor city. This place coldest than jakarta. Or you can go visit nepal van jawa in wonosobo. Central java. This month has more 3 times freeze. good luck and good vibe for yours in Indonesia, stay carefull from scam

Good evening guys. Well this was an epic vlog. It had a little bit of everything. The atmosphere looked amazing and the people were so lovely. That mosque was outstanding. I bet the 'call to prayer' would be superb. We witnessed a beautiful one in Thailand because it echoed around the limestone cliffs where we were staying. Brilliant, brilliant vlog guys 🙏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇮🇩

What really set Indonesia apart from her neighbors is surfing waves other than it's remarkable diversity in culture and nature. You could find world class surfing waves from the very northern tip of sumatera to banyak islands to Nias to Telo islands to mentawai to krui to panaitan islands to south coast of java to Bali to lombok to sumbawa to sumba to rote and timor facing indian ocean, and from morotai island all the way to biak island for pacific ocean. You'll find it's quite different, when you couldn't see any tourists for hours sometimes for days and all of sudden there's many surfers in some very remote parts of Indonesia. Some people say if surfing world has disneyland, it's Indonesia. Safe travels.

Hallo Taz and Libby 🙌. Welcome to Jakarta, I hope you both always healthy and safe in Jakarta because now the air is not in good condition so always take care of your health. Firstly, I suggest you both to buy e-money cards (namely Jaklingko card etc) for use public transportation in Indonesia you can buy them at Indomaret etc, bus stops, or stations. So that you can get around Jakarta more easily and more cheaply by using public transportation (and reduce pollution of course). In Jakarta there are various types of transportation that can be used with this card, namely: Transjakarta Bus (BRT), Commuter Line KRL, MRT Jakarta, LRT Jabodebek (Train). At first it was a bit difficult to understand the route (you can download online), but once you know the system you will be happy to use it. If you are familiar with taking public transportation, you can go around Jakarta in peace and more economically, of course. However, if you are in a hurry, the last way is to use Gojek or Grab. Avoid taking public transportation in Jakarta during rush hours (such as when going to work or returning from work) because later it will get really crowded like zombies haha and traffic jam in road is crazy. If you want to walk a lot, I hope you take care with the scooter. But in general, Central Jakarta and South Jakarta are generally very walkable. But the others part of ct, sometimes there are pedestrian paths, sometimes there aren't haha. If you are in Jakarta and have longer time, you must visit: National Monument (Monas) for independence, fountain show and video mapping, TMII (Indonesia Miniature Park), National Museum, Bundaran HI and Bundaran HI bus stop view point, Jakarta Chinatown PIK, Senayan Park Skywalk, and dont miss the gigantic mall in Jkt (Grand Indonesia, Taman Anggrek, and Pacific Place), or Sarinah for heritage mall. If you want to see Downtown Jakarta and skyscrapers, you can go and take a walk to Sudirman-Thamrin Street in the Business District (SCBD) , you can use MRT Jakarta to Bundaran HI. You can also visit GBK Stadium complex for sports and jogging near SCBD, Ancol and Dufan for fun and recreation, and the Thousand Islands Regency if you want to see bunch of tropical islands in north of Jakarta Bay. Enjoy Jakarta ✨

Welcome to Indonesia, you should watch our Independence Day party at 17th August happen all over Indonesia. Most of the shops will closed in the morning to allow the worker join the games that happen in each kampung (district). There will be laughter and fun, many traditional games will happen, people joining not only for the reward but also the fun. It is called "Lomba tujuh - belasan" meaning Competition in 17 August, you can ask any local Indonesian they will know.

You can go to Monas square at 17 August morning usually aroound eight o'clock it will be a parade from Monas to Merdeka palace about 1km (palaces are around Monas) the parade is looked like what you have seen on your video but with many traditional costumes If you want to say good in food just say enak🎉

@@sunkissedbucketlist The Independence Ceremony was held at Merdeka Palace (located near Merdeka Square - Monas). The ceremony was actually opened to the public but of course it was the important ceremony so the invitations is for government and important chosen people. There are also invitations for public in general with online registration and it has quotas if you want enter palace yard and join the ceremony. The rest who can't enter the palace yard usually fill the road near the palace and along Merdeka Square or Bundaran HI (the government usually has provided videotrons at several points so that the public can see the independence ceremony). Because in that moment there will be a lively parade and cultural performance. Also, in the night after independece ceremony, there are stage, cultural performance, fountain show, video mapping, and fireworks at Monas and some lighting show in Bundaran HI. So, Dont miss it.
