Our First Time in YOGYAKARTA Wasn't What We Expected! | AMAZING City in Indonesia 🇮🇩

It's our first time in Yogyakarta indonesia and that means we have to go our and give our first impressions of yogyakarta Indonesia while we explore this amazing city! One thing happened that made our trip to Yogyakarta unexpected though, Isaac got some dang food poisoning. And unfortunately.. that meant that we really weren't able to leave our hotel room much. And only having 2.5 days scheduled in Yogyakarta, the timing didn't really work out with the food poisoning in Indonesia because the sickness last pretty much the entire time we were there.
Despite that we were still able to do some things. We did a Americans Try McDonald's in Indonesia, American Tries Mie Goreng for the first time in Indonesia, Trying Mie Gacoan in Indonesia, Trying Reddog in Indonesia, Trying Indonesian Milktea, and we explored the famous Malioboro Street in Yogyakarta too.
We would have loved to do more, we know Yogyakarta street food is a big thing and the Yogyakarta temples are world famous, but sadly with food poisoning, those were all but impossible. We will come back to Yog hopefully sometime soon, to make up for all we missed!

Hi guys. 1949 was the year that the Dutch acknowledged Indonesia as a sovereign nation. Indonesians had proclaimed their independence in 1945 (during WW II) and fought the Dutch effort to recolonized them 'till that year. 😊 Have a good trip & keep posting!

The Korean Food Restaurant (Reddog) is actually a restaurant chain originated in Indonesia. It opened in 2020 in Jakarta, and has expanded in 50 location in Indonesia. It has also opened a few locations in Singapore. The founder is Kim Hongyel and Daniel Sidik.

Malioboro street looks very interesting. Getting sick during travels is really unfortunate but things happen, it's good that it was not that serious and recovered pretty quick.

This played an important role in causing international pressure to be exerted on the Netherlands. Finally on 27 December 1949, the Dutch recognised Indonesia as an independent country. ( Yogyakarta was Indonesia's Capital in history from 1945 to 1949 when Jakarta was already under Dutch's control)

Oh that’s rough food poisoning. Isaac can have easy soft food like yoghurt, toast, wht rice, banana and definitely a lot of coconut water for hydration. Be careful what you eat make sure it’s well cooked. New word from Tyler’s dictionary - dookarhea 😆

it's simple, if your pee is smelly when eating thai or indonesian food it's just because their food is contains a lot of spices, that's why their food is really good, and the time when isaac is getting food poisoning it's maybe because he's not that capable or tolerant to many spices that's being offers in the foods, but the more you eating the more your body tolerate it, it's the same with spicy food, the more you tolerate it, the more spicy you can be

always make sure to drink electrolytes whenever you're puking or pooping. bananas and plain rice can also provide energy while being bland enough for upset tummies

Poor Isaac. Drink Gatorade, it helps if you have diarrhea. Avoid eating oily and spicy food and no dairies. Boiled eggs , eat fruits except citrus ones

Tips for crossing large four street intersections without pedestrian lights: see which part of the street is currently green. If you look and see a street adjacent to your side is going, wait it out for either the opposite side or your side to start going. If the street directly opposite of your side is going, that means you have one more red light (15~30 seconds) before the light on your side stops being red, and that's a safe bet to go on. Of course, intricacies matter (e.g: if one of the streets are one way), but generally this is a good guess.

indonesia chillies spice is not building like some korean food n other else they hit u in the face from the first bite . so choose no spice no hot no pedas is safety for foreigner. if u wanna had some lit bit of sppice just choose lvl 1 or pedas sedikit. above this one, the spice will be punching u. except for korean people

Indonesian Foods are Hot. They are not spicy because "Hot" refers to how much type pepper used in the recipe & how Hot particular pepper is. "Spicy" refer to Combination & amount of spices ( like ginger,etc)that put in the dish
