Also, to point out, Stede can be intimidating when the Ed and the crew were under threat. When Calico Jack was on board, he took shit thrown at him, because he’s Ed’s friend and actively trying to tolerate him. But when he killed Karl, Stede spared no time, telling him to get off the ship. I got chills from that.

I have never felt for straight romance as a I feel for queer romance. Like boy-girl romance always feels cheesy, fake or forced in most media, very few feel true, but on OFMD every couple feels natural, organic, deeply connected and beautiful. After OFMD (and GO's Aziraphale and Crowley) I finally can say I like romance. 💜

I will say, I don't think Izzy has completely moved on or is over what happened. At least, I hope not. There are just too many elephants in the room between Ed and Izzy to simply brush off. Rather, he's applying band-aid to deal as best he can with Ed and his situation and its potentially permanent lack of resolution. I think it's quite telling that he and Ed didn't share the screen together once outside the group apology scene, where he was treated as one more of the crew instead of Ed's oldest friend and first mate, not to mention that Izzy still loves him despite everything. Did you see his stutter when asking about what Ed said about him? Then again, it seems Izzy is either already used to or rapidly getting used to being placed second to anything else that captures Ed's attention. What I came off of with this last episode is the ED AND IZZY NEED👏TO👏TALK!👏 Ps: I totally agree with another comment that Izzy's shark story is basically him saying that he deserves what happened to him because of his actions in season 1. JESUS, THEY NEED TO TALK!!!!!😩😩😩

I love how they show the teetering of speed in one’s relationship. Stede panicked before that everything was moving so fast. Now Blackbeard is the one who wants to go slow when Stede had caught up to Ed’s previous stage in their budding romance. So, in the first You Wear Fine Things Well the moon was full and rediculusly huge giving way more light than would be sensible. It was a hyper romantic fairytale moon. This time the moon waxing and a normal size and putting out far less light. We get the same line but in a more realistic* setting. They're not in fancy clothes, Ed has is little fish he's so proud of, Stede is talking about his day. It's amazing the way the little changes build up.
