In this video I share the herbal remedies we use in this house for health maintenance and when attempting to ward off any sickness. Last year we harvested elderberries and indian pipes to make homemade tinctures. We also keep fermented honey garlic and plenty of Apple Cider Vinegar on hand.

If you place the tincture under your tongue, the medicinal properties are absorbed directly into your bloodstream through the sublingual artery so it doesn't have to go through your digestive system first. This allows for faster absorption and healing! That's why you place tinctures under the tongue 😉 I hope you feel better soon!

@@lisaelliott6155 if it is a tincture yes. If it is an essential oil I would advise not to put any essential oil directly under your tongue as it could cause esophageal burn and damage your throat and we don't want that.

I always have on hand basic stuff for conquering any infections like -ficer cider/ master tonic (recipe from rosemary gladstar) -echinacea tincture (susun s weed has good info on this) -lots of dried nettles (for making nourishing infusion -look susun s weed again) -non gmo vitamin c (i use sodium ascorbate from nutribiotics, suzanne humphries can tell u more about using it) -mms drops (look for example amandha vollmer for more info) -i really like swedish drops as well (can be bought ready made or tincture the ready packet of the dried herb mix, google maria treben swedish bitters) -oregabo oil is awesome as well, my favorite brands are north american herb and spice company (cass ingram) and global healing center (ed group) We use only herbs, homeopathic remedies and energy healing plus occasionally some other natural solutions for our health, and we are very happy with the situation 😊

We also ferment garlic in honey and make elderberry syrup (easier to get granddaughter to take it). I was taught by my homeopath that putting things under the tongue allows the lymph system to absorb the properties right into the bloodstream and that kept the properties of the herb more concentrated since it wasn't digested through the stomach. We also keep and take fire ciders (Rosemary Gladstar has a whole book of 100 recipes for the fire cider) and we sip ginger-lemon tea with honey daily during the flu season (which seems to get longer each year). I've seen Indian pipe growing but never knew it was so beneficial! Thanks for such great content! I hope you feel better soon!

Another awesome immune system booster is slice organic lemons, slice ginger root and layer in a mason jar with pure local honey all the way to the top. Let it ferment for 12 hours in the frig. I take a tablespoon twice a day during cold and flu season. It works like a charm and is super good for you! When layering do the lemon, then the ginger and then the honey till you have a full jar.

Ghost Pipe is another name, for the Indian Pipe. There are different colours for the Indian Pipes as well. Herbal Jedi has a video on them, he takes you on a forest hike and finds and shows a few different plants in the same family as the Indian Pipe. Am sure there are other videos out there he is just the one I recall off the top of my head without doing a search.

I get alot of those 'pressure headaches' ! it is horrible and you do feel like your head is going to explode or fall off....:( We can buy Mersyndol in NZ which has a muscle relaxant in it which I find helps a heck of alot and has the added benefit of making me sleep REALLY soundly, and this is often enough to make the headache go away, but it is not uncommon for it to last two or three days. I have always suspected that it is something to do with the isobars/weather - an invisible trigger for them.

I had to stop taking my elderberry because there was a concern that it would aggravate or increase a cytokines storm in the setting of a covid-19 infection. Normally you want the cytokines effect that elderberry promotes, that’s what helps with colds etc. An oddity and something being researched is that many of the people that died from the covid-19 infection, on autopsy, were found to have evidence of a cytokines storm. I’m not clear on the mechanism that is actually deadly, but it is. It’s an over reaction that one’s body mounts in response to the illness. Long story, short (ok not so short). I’m now over a month post my covid diagnosis and I’m told that, even though I have pleurisy as a secondary infection, I am no longer infectious with covid. Woop woop. I actually love the taste of elderberry syrup. I squirt it in seltzer water or water kefir as a refreshing drink, and now I think it’s safe for me to do that...I think. I couldn’t get the Doc to promise I couldn’t get covid again, but he says it’s highly unlikely. . They think you get immunity, but not absolutely sure, or sure how long it may last. I’m hoping a life time. For the mean time I’m going to have a glass of elderberry seltzer while I’m mending my pleurisy and before I’m back at work taking care of patients that have the potential of infecting me again. Cheers

This dates back to 1832 in our family history...This is to treat upset stomach and to rehydrate you...It's a tea, made with catnip fennel, mint and chamomile...we have a tea pot that we use and each has a special cup that we only use when someone is sick, to make them feel extra pampered...Even the kids would drink it without honey or sugar...Now they give this to their kids.

I am starting to learn about homemade remedies as well. I am going on year two with no antibiotics for cold viruses and home healing through tinctures and syrups. In the past I would have to get an antibiotic to kick my cough because the cold virus would induce my asthma symptoms but I have been able to eliminate this with my homemade remedies and a little help from over the counter cold meds but no antibiotics so far which is great. Thank you for posting some of your remedies!! Can you list the name of the remedy book please when you get a chance?

I add chicken, chicken broth, beets, 3-4 kinds of beans, onion, lots of fresh and dried garlic, a tablespoon of turmeric, ginger, ground fennel seed, pepper, salt, carrots, parsnips, corn, and potatoes.
