I was in love with Michael Jackson as a little girl! We were the same age. I wish Michael was alive now. We Miss Him ! There will never ever be anyone in music this great as a child, teen and adult he was truly gifted and the whole world loved him!

Star Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy liked "Oooh Child" and so did Furious Styles from Boyz in the Hood. It sends a needed message. I think they reacted to that song, not understanding the group's name Five Stairsteps. I have 3 stairsteps and they're 34, 33, and 31.

I lived in Gary for 4 years 1972-1976. The Jacksons were gone to California and famous by then. I would have gone to THE VELT but I left G.I. before I entered middle school. The Jacksons lived at 2300 Jackson street. At that time you could walk right up to their door but now the house is a blocked off shrine. I only lived about 10 blocks away from their house - walking distance. Thanks for playing Going back to Indiana. Michael and the J5 had so many great hits. His voice shines on all of them, especially Who's Loving You? and Never Can Say Goodbye. Dancing Machine was a huge hit when it came out and everyone was trying to do the robot to it like Mike. Keep those great hits coming!

The Jackson Five's Greatest Hits was my very first album (yes, vinyl) purchased by my parents for me when I was 12. I had such a suburban white girl crush on Michael. It lasted up until he was no longer black. But his talent was the kind that shakes up a generation and destroys the human body that carried that talent. Like Mozart. Like Van Gogh. With the brilliance also often comes madness.

I grew up in Calumet City, IL. And it was a requirement to know every song from the Jackson 5. Especially in grade school when we quizzed each other on the lyrics 😂and y’all in Gary and never heard this song before!! 219 has been my area code the last 6 years now and I love it.

He didn't call himself that. Elizabeth Taylor started that when she called him The King of Pop, Rock, and Soul Music at an award show back in 1989 ( kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gNt1hZSmqb_ZhIU.html 10:04). After the first part of the title stuck with him.

Michael was 13 when this soundtrack was recorded. It was from a live TV special. He had been performing with his brothers since he was 4 or 5. Their father was a real asshole and worked all of them like slaves.
