@@carlygrace2 Agreed! I was inspired by your kitchen to refresh my apartment kitchen, months ago, NOW I will finish!! Your home is a work of art and love, literally, both adding such finesse, along with your sidekicks and family. Make the list of major and minor projects to be done for each area as it helps to avoid overwhelming discouragement. ALSO, add a rewarding sailing trip as a near future goal. to refocus and refresh, RnR. You are amazing!

Wonderful video!!! How very realistic! My husband and I purchased and renovated our current home in 2019. We made it liveable, moved in and continued slowly with the odd bit and bob here and there. (Transitions, tiles, garage, driveway, landscaping etc.) The house is still not finished! 😅 Maybe before we put it on the real estate market to sell we will get it all done! Haha As life is now, we would much rather spend our money on travel than building material. ❤❤ love to you all!

Ha! Same! We moved house in March and STILL don't have a living room since our living room is essentially a storage room while we're sorting other things! Don't worry Anna, most homes have some sort of 'room of doom'! In our previous house it was a drawer of doom in the kitchen: a miscellaneous drawer that we just shoved anything into if it had no home! When we were moving, we found allsorts of rubbish in there 😂😂

Don’t be so hard on yourselves! Any rich person can hire designers, workers and purchase furniture but most people, especially with young families, need time and money to have their homes evolve over time. I enjoy your sense of humour, your creativity and your decorative style in your chateau. To me, it’s the balance between the historical building, current needs and you personal creative style that comes through in your chateau. And I like it!

Agreed. Don’t be hard on yourselves. We only have a 4 bedroom 1980s house but have done several major building projects and renovations in it over the years. Only now, 23 years after moving in, do we feel that we can clear our ‘spaces of doom’ (3 lofts for us and the garage) and feel that we don’t need to keep items ‘just in case’ and that we are happy, mostly, with our home 😂

YOUR HONESTY is refreshing. In the age of social media we always see the highlight reel, never the "real life" behind the scenes. Why anyone would complain about the pace of your removed/renovation is beyond me. It is not their money, time or business. You are doing an amazing job.

I'm so shocked there are those who complain about your renovations being slow. I've been utterly charmed from your first posting until now, and I don't see that changing any time soon. I absolutely love the work:life balance you embody, and especially love the care and time you take to make each decision the right one. This was a wonderful tour of the chateau, and so easy to see how very much work has gone into the renovations you've already done.

Anna and Philip, what you call messy and embarrassing others call normal. You guys are holding yourself to a higher standard. You have a lovely and beautiful home, and an even more lovely and beautiful family and that is all that really counts. In the years to come, when you look back, you will not remember that the girls room did not have curtains, or the attic was not sorted, but you WILL remember the fun adventures you had sailing or traveling to Italy.

Please, no need to apologize for areas that haven’t been finished, or organized or reorganized. Life is a daily process of creating meals and dirty dishes, a dance of creativity and inspiration while making a mess to get the finished project. I’m so happy for the happy pleasures you’ve found, whether finding the right boat, color for a room, a design for a wallpaper or a tile or scent for a candle. Your joy, creativity and humor, has added greatly to my daily life and my love of humanity. Wishing you Infinite Blessings ❤

It is home and lived in and beautiful! You have room for the girls to spread out in as they grow. It takes years of living in a home to make it work for you in how you need it, you have done very well and the things you would change (regret) are minor in the grand scheme of things and fairly easy to rectify. Stay Calm and Carry On: It takes time to build good, strong bones and THAT’S what I see when I look at your spaces. Filling rooms with furniture and decor can be done quickly but shoring up the rooms with lighting, heating, cooling, plumbing, floors, tiles, molding, windows, paint, hardware, etc., all takes years to do properly and it’s extremely expensive, so ALL OF US who’ve been watching and those who’ve recently joined, absolutely understand this! Half of us are probably in the middle of doing it in our own homes too - I for one, am and I watch you guys for inspiration along the way (and have been since your first video). I love your style. It’s rather like mine, thus I prefer your Chateau over most others on KZfaq!! So, don’t apologize, we’re all here because we enjoy your content…..Carry On!!!

It was very refreshing seeing the honesty when showing your home. A home is meant to be lived in and it's a never ending chore when you have children and pets. You've done a beautiful job and it just takes a lot of time ,energy and Money. But you will finish someday in the future but you will never be done. There's always something that needs fixed or you will change how the house looks .. You will have a beautiful home some day that you will make many wonderful memories of your lives and as your children grow up. I can picture both of you in the future having your grandchildren running about the house with you enjoying them . I really don't believe you need to apologize for the way your home looks, anyone who's raised children more then understand and this is coming from an old man of 72 years young who raised 6 beautiful girls who have given us 23 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren who are the love of our lives. Grandchildren and now great grandchildren are the rewards for all the years of sacrifice to be able to raise 6 wonderful daughters. God bless and just love each other unconditionally and always fight fair when you disagree and you will be able to grow old togeather and married life is so much easier once you reach a certain age .

Anna & Phillip, I would suggest doing some of the small jobs like the trim work, shelves in closets and painting rooms that you don't like the colors & fix the tears on the little couch . I would do these little jobs first that don't cost a lot then tackle the bigger jobs one at a time after all the little ones are taken care of. Make yourself a list of all the jobs to tackle and scratch off as you complete. Good luck, Kathy USA 🇺🇸

Y’all started out with a property that already had you in the hole as far as a never ending list of to-dos. Give yourselves grace in the doing of those things and enjoy your girls while they are young. And the boat! Enjoy the boat! ❤️😊

Thank you for your honesty. Everyone has these dumping ground areas in their home. Give yourself a break, you are working full time and raising children. It will get done in time. Focus on one thing at a time and shut the doors in the rest.

Never feel you cannot show the unfinished messy rooms in the chateau. It means you are normal and humble to share your reality with others. We all have that messy room. Storage is a problem for us all.😊❤

Your chateau is wonderful and it certainly doesn’t seem like you are moving too slow! You have two young daughters, were running the guest house and doing all the things you do. Often the little things can be hard to get to - you should be proud of what you have done.❤

Anna, it's evident how beautiful you have designed the countless spaces in your wonderful chateau. It's truly amazing. And Philipp, what can I say...all of the work that Benoit has done under your careful tutelage and supervision, it's breathtaking. 😊

Anna and Philipp, other than a few odds and ends around the château, you've utterly transformed the place. It looks very comfortable and family-friendly. As always, the production values are fantastic. Philipp, I suspect that you enjoy engaging with the toxic narcissists that lurk everywhere on social media. I rationalize that there doesn't seem to be any benefit to engaging with them, so I choose to ignore them. Judging from your recent lack of sparring, you have adopted the same strategy.

A "room of doom" is quite a wonderful inspiration for future, organized storage. When the time arrives to create dedicated closets, you then begin sorting, purging, donating, and saving!!! You're inspirational; keep doing what you're doing and bring us along for the ride!! I can see a beautiful walk-in closet in "room of doom's" future. Blessings!!!

I absolutely loved this tour. If you have any naysayers telling you you're taking too long or doing something wrong. Ignore them. Coming from somebody who's renovated a very small not so old Lake house..... you are doing an amazing job. Yes there's always going to be bits and pieces that need to be finished or updated. Just put them on a list. Get to it when you can. You've done an amazing job. Thank you for sharing it with us.

We downsized drastically and now live in a three room basement apartment in Austria and we still haven't managed to finish off things like skirting boards etc. Now multiply that by your huge house, it is incredible that you have done as much as you have, and had time for children and gardens and earning a living! You complain of the mess but through some of the mess we can still detect your style and elegance. Of course we would love to see you bring your talent to improving some rooms and completing others, in your own good time..

Hello everyone. So there is a sliding system for the fridge in Germany that deals with exactly this issue. This system looks like a rail and a kind of hook clings to this rail. I don't know what it's called, but I'm sure you can find it here or on the internet. Maybe you could look for it. Good video. What you have done is really amazing!

Wonderful tour! I certainly wouldn't be unset about the part's of the Chateau that are not completely done. It was a enormous undertaking when you took it on. A young family starting out with that much of a job. But it is the most beautiful place. I would believe 99% of the people that started on this journey wouldn't have finished half of what you've already accomplished! I think the actic space is spectacular. If I were you I'd give myself a big pat on the back for all you've done with two young girl's. What an incredible inspiration you'll be when they look back on their childhood. Love you guy's! ❤❤❤❤

Thank you Anna and Phillip for your complete honesty about the ongoing renovations and areas the have collected ‘stuff’ over time. The renovations that you have taken on are of this scale that may be absolutely overwhelming for most people. So be kind to yourselves as what you have achieved is pretty amazing. Especially considering you also having a young active family. Cheers from Australia.
