Just last week Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was in the Loose Women studio pledging that our summer holidays were safe from any election drama - boy was he wrong! Lo and behold, yesterday he appeared in the soaking rain to announce a general election on the 4th of July. Charlene feels blindsided by it all, and is glad she didn’t have to report the news in the rain - unlike the Prime Minister.

I took my children when I went to vote, from around the age of 4, having explained to them what it’s all about. They’re now adults and very politically aware. So I was a little shocked at Linda’s surprise!

He said exactly the same thing as he always says + election July 4. He never says anything interesting, insightful, or meaningful. He was elected by precisely 0 people and has done precisely nothing worthwhile as prime minister. Even if he were to say anything useful, we have no reason to listen to him. He was not elected by the people, he was not even elected by the party members, nor by the MPs, he just found himself in the job because no one else wanted it. And he did nothing to earn his place.

@@Ellzyboy - FYI - You got be interested. Of the 66 MPs from minority ethnic backgrounds, 41 (62%) are Labour and 23 are Conservatives (35%). There are two Liberal Democrat MPs from a minority ethnic background. More than half (37) of the 66 are women. Good luck to you all.
