I personally didn't mind the remake. The original grey suit was given enough time onscreen, and it seems they'll use it for the sequel (if it did well)

There was no "original" grey suit, because they never showcased the original suit(only fragments of it as part of his "battle armor"). They used the color scheme of the original minus the shine. The movie was just awful in every sense of the word. I'd explain myself but I'd rather not rant.

They could have crushed a Robocop remake; make it NC-17; Ultra f$%king violent, darker than The Dark Knight, more hopeless than Attack on Titan, and an intro consisting entirely of credits super-imposed over Scarlett Johansson and Jennifer Lawrence getting it on full frontal style in a kiddy pool filled with lube and bacon bits.

There was some amount of shit scenes though. My favourite was the toxic waste scene, but that got inane at the end.

I didn't really care for the toxic waste scene. Too weird for me, and that's saying something. I really liked the robbery scene, the scene of robocop in the lab with the New Years Party. My favorite, oddly enough, was the dancing scene where Murphy got shot. That was cool

I'd remake the Super Mario Bros Movie. Get yourself a good director, make Koopa a terrifying dragon-man-dictator, make a Koopaling civil war, the possibilities are near-infinite. I'd make it an action-adventure film that maybe takes itself a little more seriously but never completely loses the funny.

Commentar1000 most remakes don't have the same appeal as the original. robocop was made at a time when the whole idea of cyborgs were still sort of new. but now, it's all been said and done on the subject. plus, audience expectations on CGI and realism are way higher today than it was back when the original was released.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the 2014 Robocop remake after you see it... and if I may say what I did, I saw it in the light that it's an action movie that had the Robocop name and premise slapped on at the end (because marketability or something) and seeing it like that, I thought it was really good

saquist though the scenes where they took off the armor made me cringe more than the original, and you have to admit that it didn't really need the Robocop parts... they seemed kinda strapped on (even if they did fit fairly well)

The movie was awesome. A lot better than most of the action movies of last year, specially the superhero movies. I liked the new style, looks like an spin-off or an alternative Robocop. I really think it's as great as the original, not so important of course, but great and better as a movie to watch today. If I have to choose one of them to watch again, would be the new one. I would put it on pair with Batman Begins or Iron Man 1 in my personal rank of greatness.

I know some Screen Junkies are not fans o remakes but honestly that is the problem now-days with movies. People have become haters and expect too much of movies. Bak in the day the reason movies where good was because no one knew what to expect from them. Now with marketing, internet and people becoming more aware of the future, are becoming very demanding. What happened with the first Wolverine movie. It was leaked and all of a sudden people gave it reviews. I believe it is imperative that a portion of mystery remains. Now with TV spots and internet, the trailers reveal the whole movie and people base their judgments on that. I will say watch the movie and notice the theme. The new Robocop should not be seen as a remake but rather as a concept not seen in the original. It is humanity that strives forward thanks to technology, not technology taking over humanity. At least they preserve the original unlike Star Wars that changes every 3 years.

It wasn't until I watched the series Continuum that I realized the original Robocop was way ahead of its time. Robocop 2014, while not bad, is just of its time.

Thank you again someone for mentioning Dredd. I still think that movie is amazing. And it takes a really good actor to still be able to show emotion and act with only half of your face hidden (or maybe even all of your face as I want to do a Metroid movie someday). That again tells me that the movie will suck because the actor isn't even confident in his own acting ability. What a puss.

Just Finished "Our Robocop remake" ... that's 2 hours of my life I won't get back. I don't know what I was expecting but .. I really wasn't expecting that at all. I knew there were going to be a few liberties taken with this but.. holy hell.. I expected an Action movie with some peppered in comedy.. what I got was a handful of decent scenes... Interpretive dance for the death scene of Alex Murphy... and then there was an odd scene of "How we made this scene... but we aren't going to show you the actual scene"... I just.. WOW... fucking wow.

Been watching the "OUR ROBOCOP REMAKE." Some of the redone scenes are really fun. Hand puppets, cardboard props, dummies, stupid jokes and puns, and Murphy's death done as an interpretive dance number.... what's not to love? Hahaha. Hey, holy shit, you're on now Hal! Watching you rob that convenience store; hope to see you go through the glass door of a beer cooler!

I would remake spiderman 3. I came home after watching it, walked through the house to the kitchen. Took some lighter fluid. Went in the back yard. Took my prize spiderman tshirt off. Doused it and lit the fucker up. Two things happened after that: firstly my wife always hides the lighter fluid before we go to the pictures and secondly: I never saw the other films (or that piece of shit) ever again

Am I the only one who really enjoyed the remake? Murphy losing his humanity is a lot more upsetting and real, and its got those awesome little nods to Verhoeven's style everywhere. Some of it was shite, but then I can say the same about the original

I liked it a bit... But it is so cliched... There is little to no character development... Murphy is no longer the like-able cop of the original but a stereotypical Hollywood hard nut. I have to be honest, I felt no sorrow when he died! The original... I actually felt upset even though I knew what was going to happen... Its things like this that have caused the film to be slated... Too much focus on effects and not enough character or story... And when is Hollywood going to get a grip too... SPOILER ALERT (Sorry!) But Having Samuel L. Jackson Swearing just for either "Dramatic effect" or "Humour" is DULL!!!! It worked with Snakes on a Plane cos that was a fun, fan fest romp... IT FAILED HERE!!!! Good directors can make this work... Just look at Tranatino, He made Jackson look cool in a Bad Wig and spouting foul language... This film TOTALLY lost it with that!!!! He looks cheap... And the swearing at the movies end is pointless and bland!!!!

That was one of the biggest wastes of time I have ever subjected myself to. Not only do I want me time back but also I am submitting charges for bandwidth, electrical usage and wear and tear on the electronic devices that had to display that filth. At best only half way funny.

I watched the RoboCop remake... I loved it, it was awesome! it's a whole new take on RoboCop and this is coming from a die hard fan of the original film. Honestly give it a chance, it's not better than the original but I enjoyed it for what it was! This is getting too much hate from people who haven't even seen it yet.

ID totally remake the 1987 classic "Predator" because death scenes are the most fun to shoot, and wed get to play with guns during filming :). Most of the movie would actually be the firefight at the beginning of the original, since we dont have a high speed camera and would have to do all the slow motion manually. Also more fun to actually shoot. Predator would simply snipe everyone in the party instead of goofing around and playing with Arnies character Dutch. Fade to black, credits.

You did something amazing with this project. I never got to watch the Robocop but still wanted to check out "Our Robocop Remake", because I really liked the idea. When I got to the first ED 209 scene, I realized how hooked I was, paused the thing and watched the original Robocop. It's amazing. So thanks for that.

I am a huge fan of the original 1987 RoboCop, so I went into the theater to watch the 2014 RoboCop remake. Keep in mind I was skeptical and not expecting much. The result was shock and awe, the remake was spectacular, from the allusions so politics, propaganda, and the effect of the media. The special effects were good, and keep in mind I’m not a fan of C.G.I. I don’t really find it fare to compare the 1987 version to the 2014 version. They’re both great films that stand on their own. If you haven’t seen the 2014 remake you should watch it, you will not be disappointed.

Either way, this remake still looks a lot more entertaining than the official remake! Would love to see big budget remakes of 'Fantastic Voyage', 'Innerspace' or an updated gritty even bleaker vision of Fritz Lang's 'M'.

When we heard that they were trying to remake The Warriors, we considered doing a Warriors remake where the gang had to run all the way from Los Angeles to Coney Island, and each scene would be done by a different group across the country. For some reason or another The Warriors remake didn't happen, so our idea quickly died as well.

With 55 directors, I still didn't think it would go 1hr 50m. Good flick. Good idea. The sequels were spoofs in their own right, but please, give 'em you spin.
