Clay Tall Stories

It is not just dirt. It is the chance to build a new sustainable future. The chance to put roots down and build a stable home. A place where my children can call home and no one can tell me to leave. A place to raise livestock and grow fruit and vegetables and run our hunting dogs. I hope you enjoy this video. Clay 😊

Clay. The proper way to use the float tube is to sit in it as your friend shows but wearing waders and flippers to propel yourself across the water backwards. meaning the pointy end of the float tube is the front of the vessel. Happy float tube fishing! Greetings from the Highlands of Scotland.

Someone has probably suggested this already, but if you get a trailer load of fresh sawdust from the mill were you got the untreated timber, put a deep layer of it in the chook coop, I just did wheelbarrows loads one next to the other, the chooks will scratch around just like they did around your veges, and poo in the sawdust, it cuts down the smell of chook poo, in the winter it helps to not have the pen floor turn into a wet, muddy stinky mess, fresh sawdust of macrocarpa or pine, also helps keep mites down on the chooks, and the smell keeps the chooks lungs healthy from respiratory problems. If you really want to step up the game, throw all garden weeds, lawn clippings in on the sawdust or grow some extra greens for the silverbeet kale and such for chooks, the girls will each all the seeds in weeds, and lawn clippings and generally eat everything, and work it in with the sawdust along with their poo... in a few months you will have a well worked compost for your gardens. Remove all compost, and repeat with new sawdust. the other bonus is the sawdust gets the worms and insects to come in, which the chooks also eat, making their eaggs even more protein, You can cut down the pellets or mash you give them. I think of my chooks and ducks as compost makers 1st, and the eggs are a bonus. I haven't finished watching the vid yet, but put a couple of old car tyres in the coop and fill with dry dusty dirt, giving the girls a dust bath add some rosemary leaves, both their nests and dust baths, also deters mites on the chooks.

Hi Clay ... your ‘pack raft’ is not paddle powered . You dangle legs in water and wear divers fins to propel yourself. That way you send the bow the right way and have steering. Bonus is then don’t get clumsy paddles that get in way when fishing

I have to comment haha. You're the only person I've ever seen paddling a float tube, that's not to say you can't, it's just that most everyone uses a pair of flippers and go backwards. If you've got a flyrod then troll an imitation sprat behind yourself and the fight will be insane with a kahawai. And yeah, those look like broccoli or cauli seedlings. Good on ya mate

I’m always amused when Vego only people, compare taste of things to meat, Eg, it tastes like steak. If they can’t handle meat in any form why even compare with it. It’s as bad as getting milk from almonds, rice, etc. Only animals give milk. I describe myself as a Vego who likes a side dish of meat. 😉
