With the toxic positivity that we practiced, always wanting people to think we are doing good, we often didn't even feel safe to ask for help with serious problems. Then when wee finally asked for help, we often got no help and often get only condemnation.

When we heard Brother Branham said, our critical thinking turmed off. That is one reason we didn't realize he was lying and contradicting himself constantly.

Thank you John & James for this discussion. I was not in the message but the Lord has brought me out of NAR, it has been fascinating to learn the early histories of pentacostalism, and early healing revivals. Thank you so much for your hard work. The Lord bless you.

Thank you, James, for your wonderful testimony. You didn't hide behind branham quotes to justify the message. Once you realize this message was false, you didn't want to stay under that spell anymore. You are honest like reverend CHARLES PAISLEY

I met someone not long ago and they invited me to the message church, she's really nice and very down to earth. I attented a few sermons and realized i might be in a cult, been watching videos here on KZfaq and she's really convinced that the message is thee way. I tried to tell her about my findings but she keeps on saying all those are lies and how much the internet can manipulate information and what not. I want to know what's the right way to approach her about all these

I'm an introvert and need a lot of time alone. In the last church i was in, it felt so suffocating, people were constantly socializing with each other and it was really hard. And there's feeling that if you just want to stay home and don't want to fellowship, there's something wrong with you spiritualy. You already have to conform in so many ways, and then you conform in that way too.

I had the same problem in the group I was. The pastor always pointed out that I don't fellowship, as you said it was overwhelming. After the service, some people will stay for another 2 hours to do what.

@@user-nx3np6hi3bYep! My husband at the time was one of the people who stood around after the service for 2 hours, then go get something to eat after every service. All the many get together. And they expect everyone to be the same and do the same things and there's something wrong with you if you don't. So glad to be out of that. I'm glad you got out too!

@lesliewells-ig5dl it's agony to listen to a preacher quoting for 2 hours max, then it's a problem if I don't hang out , therefore, you have to stay otherwise you will get leaks behind the pulpit. Service finishes on Wednesday around 10:30 at night. People have to go to work in the morning. You still can't leave if this message is not a cult. Tell me what it is.

In branham cult ministers are king, they silenced the congregation, and you are scared to ask question . For example, if there's a scandal, gossip is flying around, and the minister won't say anything, he said it's none of our business end of the story.

Anytime there is a Moses model type of structure in a church, there is high risk of abuse. Pastors who start with good intentions often end up with sinful outcomes because of fear of loss. Fear of loss of their reputation so things get hidden. Fear of loss of position and power. It would be embarrassing for those under you and around you to see your failure (so they lie to themselves and others, denying their failure). Also fear of loss of money and funds. They have so much to lose, that often the weaker people below they get harmed. Personally, through scriptures, I dont believe the Moses model is how churches are to set up. God is all knowing. He knows it's a breeding ground for abuses.

It's not possible to tell people the truth about what is going on and help them in the way they need to be helped and stay consistent with what WMB taught. Im not surprised they shut your counseling dowm. It's a real threat to the teachings of this group and they care about that a lot more than they care about what the people are going through.

It's the scriptures that proves the message wrong not us ,God at sundry times spoke with our fathers with prophets ,but in the last days he speaks with us through his Son,the holy spirit in us teaching us all things and guiding us ,so no need for a prophet

What a tragedy, Satan have deceived you, nobody says believing the message & abide will be on bed of roses, I have watched some of your videos, we over here have pass through a lot in the message & we are still in the message, just like Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 11 vs 12 .

Glad you are watching, former assistant pastor here, last thing I did in the message was help. start a new church; then I realized William Branham was not being honest. don’t blame James for leaving or others who leave, look at the one who was being dishonest.

People don't leave because being in the message hard. People leave when they realize that WMB was a liar and his prophesies failed and his teachings are not consistent with the Bible. Does it bother you that WMB was not even in Arizona when the cloud happened? He lied. He lied over and over and over. That's why people get out.
