Raven’s build is pretty awesome. It can make us all a little jealous or envious. Didn’t Raven have the GFC “camper” on it? Also, as we look at these high dollar builds, I would like to remind everyone you do NOT have to have a “high dollar” build to get out and enjoy. High budget or low budget the important thing is you get outside and enjoy.

Tanner, there is no such thing as aluminum angle iron. It is angled aluminum. These build videos are great I learn so much every week. My plan is to build out my 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 HD named Big Grey into a self contained overland rig.

@webasto folks, asked this question on epic family road trip too. How does your gas heater work at 10k elevations. My espar starts to flake out in Breckenridge and looking for something that runs off gasoline reliably at that elevation.

Thanks for another great vid!! Inspiring build!! I am glad that I was incorrect in thinking those heaters had to run on diesel! Couple questions: -does this peni-ultimate Taco have a secondary gas tank? -Have you considered a sustainable AC solution for summer nights down south? Happy trails!

For the 2" hole you drilled in the bed to run your wiring into the bed, what did you use to prevent wire chaffing from the hole and protect the wires? Grommet or cable gland or something else?

How did XO secure the Alu-boxes on top of XOverland’s 2020 Toyota Tacoma “Raven” CBI Prinsu Habitat roof rack? Were the boxes hard mounted (bolted down) or did you guys use the eezi-awn Alu-box mount?

Super amazing build to watch ! I am curious if that webasto fails at those Montana elevations. Chris Shontzs heater always fails over 7k elevation so he just doesn’t run it anymore above that.

The Canopy Camper itself weighs 420 pounds, once you subtract the tailgate. If your goal is to keep the build light, you can do so by not loading it up with accessories. Additionally, if you need to store an oversized tire, you can add the tire mount to the door, which is less than 10 pounds of added weight. That allows you to bypass a bumper with a swing arm or a tire carrier in your hitch and save several hundred pounds.

Goose gear really has come along way. At the begging of the video when your ma anger was talking about it. I was like oh no. Ruin the build. Their early stuff was aweful. I’m seriously contemplating a new build and maybe going this way. I’m still not convinced on the plywood boxes though. Be nice to see some metal or plastic construction 100 percent

Given what it is goose gear is way way over priced! You can buy extruded aluminum and finish yourself for a tenth the cost. I looked initially hard and long at goose gear and there was just no way to justify the price. Unfortunately i now know at least 6 other parties who walked from the goose gear idea! Food for thought goose gear.

Maybe true; however, it is how they are able to do these builds. They get free or discounted items and probably special support from all of the manufacturers. Just like sponsors in NASCAR.
