I never worked at one, but visiting them as a kid was always one of my favorite things to do. I remember many of these from those times. I used to love spending forever just staring at the horror boxes, trying to decide, based on the cover, whether I should rent the movie or not. So many memories this video triggered! I was hyped when I saw them watch Robot Jox (a movie I almost rented many times, because it looked awesome but also terrible) in an earlier video. It gave me closure.

My childhood was looking at these boxes for hours at the video store. Seriously hours. When waiting for Ninja Gaiden or some other game to be returned I would stay in the rental store for hours enjoying the art on these boxes. Good memories watching this.

It's like watership down but somehow more hardcore, it was made by the same folks after all. I love the themes of persistence no matter the odds as a virtue in itself and the neat bookending of doggypaddling in all 10/10 would plague dogs again

Wheel of the Worst is for non-cinematic tapes, like educational videos and such. They put actual films on the Plinketto board.

*sigh* Old VHS are so difficult to track down, even for those interested in the oddities which live on the format. I can't imagine that there are downloads for all of these. But I'd get a dedicated monitor just to have them running while I do officework or even downtime.

Did you know Memorial Valley Massacre was also distributed under the alternate title Son of Sleepaway Camp? Also, they got the UNRATED version of The Carpenter. I wanna know what's in it that makes it UNRATED. Maybe Wings Hauser gets nude.
