Great video! We’ve been full time in a 45’ coach for the last 16 years logging over 300k miles. Great to see we’re not alone with the stresses that we all encounter in our travels in a large coach. Always enjoy your videos!

We have just accepted that travel days are going to be stressful and the Pilot/Co-Pilot relationship is of ultimate importance for keeping things safe. Yes, we have a Garmin RV-specific GPS, TPMS, Toad brake system alarms, etc etc etc. And we've had errors and false alarms with all of them, further adding to the fun! Gotta love how the Class A salesmen point out how nice it is that your passenger can get back to the bedroom when the slides are closed and even take a nap during travel. A big HAHAHA there!! Love the honesty of your videos and can totally relate!

Loved the pants up high thing. It reminded me of my great uncle years ago. He always had his pants up high like that. When he put his hands into his pockets , you would think he had no arms! So funny I was laughing at you! You are a funny guy!

Thanks for the videos. I have an older bus so no def issues. Also don't use the hydraulic jacks either. Just let the bus sit where she is. A 52K pound Wanderlodge is very stable. Appreciate what you do for the RV community Mark. Thanks.

We had to do it one other time with a front RV tire issue, which turned into a false alarm. That time, the mystery was solved with our heat gun!

Mark just found out yesterday that my motorhome need a factory rebuilt engine cost a little over 72K . Now that is an expense lol , but doesn't help crying. I really enjoy your videos. I have been watching them for quite sometime. I always look forward to you having another. God Bless and protect you both. Also always remember Happy Trails lol.

We used to live in Petaluma and went to the lodge many times. When we move away we would stay at their park while visiting friends. We had the same problem parking as you did in our 40’ MH; except our DEF tank isn’t where yours is. We always stick out.🙃

This was another great video! Love the honesty and true adventures of living the r.v life. Happy to see that everything worked out from the Honda to setting up the jacks. You guys teach us so much. Don’t know if we will ever venture out in an r.v. But we still enjoy watching your weekly adventures. Congratulations to Sue’s sister and her new “Manly” car. And the burger looked really good. Great video. That is your DPF filter (diesel Particulate Filter), not a DEF filter.

Interesting close up view of your Newmar rock/mud guard, it has the same angle iron bolted along the bottom for support/counterweight as the one I purchased from Newmar for our Ventana LE (which didn't come with one). After using it for a year or so I removed it feeling it was more of a liability as the angle iron could catch on an obstruction in the road causing significant damage in addition to crushing the DEF exhaust system as you pointed out. Newer designs from Newmar and others replaced that angle iron with a piece of steel with a low profile no snag shape that would glide over obstructions. I would have been pretty stressed out watching that extended trailer hitch inch towards the gravel. Happy to see nothing damaged

One of your jacks between your drive axle and tag is missing a SnapPad.

Our rear jacks are too large in diameter to get jack pads for. They are 13" diameter. The newer Dutch Stars actually have smaller rear jack pad diameter.

Hi guys, I just got to this video after about a month and a half of travel, unfortunately only 1 weekend of it was in our new to us 2014 Newmar Ventana DP. A couple of questions; if you would have preferred to stay further back in your elks spot, why didn't you manually level without airing down? Why did you lower the front of your coach? Putting the wheels down just enough to not let them turn freely takes almost none of the hanging weight off your suspension and those wheels add nothing to your stability or positioning. Thanks, I always learn something from your videos.

After I recorded how much things tetter-totter back there, I will NEVER back over any overhang ledges again. Airing down before leveling makes our lift in the front less dramatic normally. All the irv2.com forum advice says to take the hanging OFF the front wheels. We all know that a hard stop is designed in a suspension mechanism such as this. The minimal support is to "dimensionally put the bag at something less than maximum extension" during your stay. I assume this is to keep the bag in as good a shape as possible.

For bridge experience you need need to go over the "Mighty Mac" from the southern to northern peninsula of Michigan. Almost 5 miles long and up to 200ft high. Freaked out my 14 year old when we went over two weeks ago for the first time in a class A. But now, she is 15, birthday was Wednesday, and coming back she had no issues at all.... just dad trying to stay in his lane in the winds.

The first purchase I made for the motorhome were two FiFis from the OJiM Amazon store. Don’t leave home without them. I didn’t stop my spending spree there and might have to delay my retirement in order to pay off those purchases.

I never have seen that before happen with an Rv at a campground where you were holding up that plate. I was wondering what happened. But glad you fixed it. I have never seen a manly walk before. Why do they make toll lanes soooo narrow... my God, I would be nervous trying to drive a small bicycle through one without ramming into the concrete blocks on each side. Thats why I never take toll roads . I would rather drive 200 miles out of the way on crumbling back roads than to approach one of those nightmares.

I am also amazed that in this day an age, why can't we have one transponder that works for all toll roads. The fancy ones they have now, that SAY they work for all systems, still really don't. Plus,.........the monthly charge for them is insulting. Roll the costs all into one toll charge!

Elks Lodges, like the Moose Lodges, are spread out throughout the country. They vary greatly, and are listed in the RV Trip Wizard trip planning software as one of your lodging options! We would have talked about how you join such a club, but it varies greatly from region to region. Joining the Elks is best done from the town you live in with your sticks and bricks. That would then become your "home" lodge. Joining a Lodge in hip & trendy towns will cost more than in more ordinary USA! We joined through the FMCA "Elks Club Chapter" organization because we have no "hometown" because we are always moving, and are Full Time RV. If you are Full Time RV you would need to contact the Elks Club FMCA Chapter (that understands the full time RV Life) to be able to join with the special provisional rules they have in place. We highly recommend joining the Elks for all they good they do for others, and the joy it will give you as well!

I I have a home in the area you’re driving in. Near Martinez and Benicia (toll bridges) HW 37s fun to going to Petaluma. Did you go to Gen Vallejos fort? Petaluma use to be the chicken capital of the world. Incase your into that stuff when you’re not playing mechanic.

Our of curiosity how much do they charge for camping? Also what do they charge for the meals?

Camping for full hookup 50 amp service was $30/night As a comparison, the KOA in town was between $80 and over a $100 per night on Holidays. The meals & drinks in ALL the lodges throughout the US are super cheap,........and all taste home cooked.

Because of the Full Wall Slide, a NEWMAR coach will “most of the time” go back together better on the air suspension while on your tires. Sometimes we have to violate the procedure due to issues that arise, but we mostly only deploy the slides when aired up, on the tires only,…..then level. When folding up,……come off the jacks,……air up,…….shut off engine,…..bring slides in. We have opened EACH of our slides over 100 times. Results with each evolution is always different. The best result is “usually" following the procedure they recommend in the manual. Many folks are misinformed on the correct Newmar FWS model procedure. Newmar has published PIB#38, issued 01/29/15 addressing the change in procedure for all Full Wall Slide coaches only! Make sure you also get and understand TSB-466 (Technical Service Bulletin) This is about the gear box mounting bolt torque issues you need to monitor. This issue cannot be ignored. When the bolts get loose, the gearcase will snap off. It’s a $1500 repair.

While I have had a couple of Newmars , monoco, and a wonderlidge I got out of rvarcing because of the constant requirement of extentive maintenance. I’ve spent more time at NIRV and I wonder how you two continue to fight the tv experience?

It is a fun coincidence that I am replying to you from NIRVC-Atlanta for Ceramic Boost and Oasis Heat/Water Heater Annual Maintenance,............right after being in for yearly Chassis Maintenance at Gaffney SC Freightliner. So far for Sue & I, the trouble & expense still is totally worth it,.............but we try to warn folks,.........it is a super, ultra, expensive lifestyle to travel & tour full-time.
