I watched this film with my Indian friend in a UK cinema, and have since watched it twice on Amazon Prime. This film is no accidental genius and everything looks crafted like an enchanted watch-maker. The direction, music, story and some quirky camera and editing work. The director very meticulously explains why everything looks overblown. The narrator and the author of the story scratches off the words 'based on a true story' in the very opening scene. He has never seen this Rocky bloke, only heard from people and their perceptions. The first 20 mins actually needed to be in slow motion because the story told is alarmingly dense. I can guarantee it is not like a music video! Everything has a link and nothing is random. It is quicker than the first 10 mins of the Lord of The Rings! But I like your very loud, over-the-top American review!

That was the first south Indian movie . I have watched in theaters. We laughed so much at the beginning that why r we watching that ! But after sometime it shuts our mouth. It was epic. and he is also a kind hearted in person!

You're absolutely correct about the 1st 20 mins of the movie! It isn't a language barrier...it is actually lighting fast! But it is still a great movie!

The Choppy editing was intentional & it was an artistic choice of director. The last fight scene they shot through only natural light ie they used 1000 odd torches

I watched KGF thrice and yash is brilliant actor and a very popular in Kannada film industry (which is in south india) also called Sandalwood

I just wanted to get you the reason for quick cuts in the movie is the story is huge as the director says this is just 30 % of the story he wanted to accommodate it in watchable run time... There are other movies from our sandalwood from where kgf originated... Here is the Reason for the first 20 minutes to be very quick coz It contains the most Important content of story and is the base for the Second Chapter of the Movie. The director didn't wanted to reveal everything, so he gave some clues about story of Second chapter in the Starting of this Movie.

I just subscribed after watching this review. It's fun & informative. Loved it. It's the 1st epic film from Kannada Film Industry, reaching world wide audience opening our industry business on a large scale & provide hope to young filmmaker to dream Big. Awaiting for KGF 2. PS :- kgf is a real place in India. But it's a fiction story. Most indian films portray larger-than-life hero to entertain fans & followers, some actors are worshipped like God and celebrate movie release as a festival.

This movie will stand on *Rank* *1* in Indian movie history. How Rocky was trying to fulfill a promise of his dying mother. How he was trying to fulfill a last wish of his dying mother.

because he created such a terror and when they thought they had tamed him, but no it was Rocky's plan to destroy all of them n thats the reason they were shiwering out of fear. but in gold mine no one knew rocky n thats why no villain was giving a damn about him..... but in next chapter definitely they too will start shiwering out of his fear😂😂🙏

even i felt the same way about the editing , instead of the choppy editing they could have increased the run time a little bit. try : andhadhun, tumbbad, bahubali series, vada chennai (tamil), c/o kancharapalem (telugu), lucia (kannada), ugly, udaan .

The scene of people getting afraid is the entry of the main character & a vulturous villain. The character in the film doesn't look out who is on the other side and once the hands fall on them it's their last breath. All the stages in the movie is handmade and a No VFX movie!! Hardwork pays best!! In real life Yash is a very humble man and loved by many. The movie KGF (Kolar Gold Fields) is actually pictured in a Gold mine. The second half of the movie capes the entire Gold mine. There is KGF 2... coming which will be the final one of the 2 part movie. Look forward and watch it. Thanks to learning about the eastern philosophy. The more you get to know the more it amazes you.

Some people like the first part and Some like the second and its the main reason for KGF becoming a huge success and Blockbuster.It attracted all kinds of Moviegoers.Thats the beauty of KGF.If u understand the language then ull have goosebumps for every dialogues.Action sequences in South Indian movies will be over the top to attract the mass audience and fans because theyre the backbone of every movie of a superstar they watch it first day first show.

Those who missed KGF are chutyas in the name of moviegoers. Ive seen it 4 times in a theatre!

You slo-mo is too awesome for KZfaq! Watch Jaby and Achara's interview with K.G.F. star Yash. It's a 2 parter. He explains how to pronounce his name towards the end. He's way cooler than you would even think. KZfaq has 6 hour long segments of a BBC documentary called The Story of India. It is a very informative show. If it seems long, consider that it has to cover Human presence in India soon after the human exodi from Africa some 80,000 years ago to the time the show was written. Good show. You will love it.

I feel very happy when more and more people get to know about our country (our culture, our food, our films, our history etc) . Because for years we have been stereotyped and associated with many prejudice notions. The more people knowing our country the more people loving it. I don't know if you would be interested in learning or just familiarizing with the geographical terrain of India. There are state tourism advertisements for most of the states, I believe. If you want to check them out, you will be able to get a good idea of the locations of these states, the changes in terrain and weather, languages, cultures and food. Most people think of the heat when they think of India. But Northern and North Eastern Himalayan and eastern regions are one of the most freezing, majestic and most beautiful in the world. Do check these videos out too! To start with there are the states of Gujarat, Assam, Kashmir, Odisha that have commercial, and I am sure there are more.

Great observations... Yes the fight sequences were fast... But that has been consistent with editing and fight sequences of major South Indian movies... I too had a difficult time following and hopefully they had given much time so that we can appreciate the fight sequences more...
