Actually Americans have burritos which are shawarma-like wraps that have *rice* along with ground meat, cheese and beans as the filling, so it's not unusual for them to have rice along with the naan and curry.

Add on: Correction Biryani is also taken with curd or plain mutton curry [only] but mostly without anything. Plain rice: Daal, kadi, rajma, chole and cud be with rest of curry dishes also. Naan : Curries + non gravy vegitable dishes also. We can understand what you said but actually, they should know precise.

it is 'Paneer' is a dairy product made from milk. not 'Tofu' is made from soybeans.

Yes..almost all foreigners confuse paneer as tofu... Its a actually a type of cheese. Cottage cheese I believe.

its actually neither. I have had cottage cheese here in america and it would be a bad comparison. visually maybe. Its not like tofu either. because good sizzled paneer tastes like..... well "Good Paneer" hahaha I personally don't like tofu but paneer is amaaaazing!

Dal is the pulses(lentils). India has different types of lentils in each household for daily cooking. Also paneer is cottage cheese (usually made with the cows or buffalos milk) while tofu is made from soya. So even if they look similar, are entirely different. Glad you liked the taste of most of it!
