It was also a sensation when it launched. Many people were hoarding it by bulk buying or buying it for double or triple price. Its a ₹1 candy, it was crazy few months because market stock supply could not keep up with the insane demand. Not all Indians liked it either but those who did, REALLY REALLY liked it.

they r not traditional Indian snacks. Yes they are popular and Snacks mean samosa, papdi, pakoda poha vada pav. Sambhar vada. etc

Pulse candy costs Rs 1. When it launched it was so popular shops started selling it for double the price and the thing became so scarce people were buying packs of 100 to keep. It was a bomb.

Conclusion after watching these videos: Americans cant handle extreme flavours for e.g. pulse candy, hajmola etc. doesnt matter whether it is sour, sweet or spicy. Also all of these WERE indian snacks/candies.
