Movie plot: A timid hero lives in a slum with his family, who are forced to move to a poorly constructed apartment building by the government. One day, he gets into an accident and gains the ability to hear a voice that can tell the future. With the help of the voice, he gradually becomes more confident and courageous. He uses his power to save his fellow slum dwellers from the collapsing building and to demand better living conditions from the authorities.

Maveeran is a well written new age masala film. Except few flaws in the climax it was well written and well made. Suprising script selection from Sivakarthikeyan.

@@subir456 you clearly don’t even know what nepotism is. South industry never stopped anyone from being an artist like you guys did for Shushant singh. Nepotism does not mean giving a change to nepo kids it means grabbing the opportunities from talented people South industry never did that.

@@MyPersonalAccount124 Hey I am not the one supporting nepotism in any industry. In my understanding, the fact is, nepo kids always get a head start than an average Joe, then they are given opportunities that an average Joe won't get. Not to say, a nepo kid is not always worthy but if one role for a hero of a new movie is available, the nepo kid would get it but the average Joe won't; does not matter if they have equal acting prowess or not and thus a new "great" actor is born out of a nepo kid from the same family, prohibiting bringing new talents into the industry. I know the south people are crazy for their actors but let us not turn a blind eye to the nepotism problem.

What is happening in this story is still happening every year. Everyone is like the hero in this story . But they don't protest and question, they endure and live. This film reflects that. The voice in the story is the voice that speaks in everyone's mind.

During the opening animation, the warrior saves ‘Ilavarasi”( the princess), in same way the hero saves ‘Ilavarasi’ ( the little girl) in the climax

This is a real issue; I have heard about such things. Slum dwellers are relocated, but what they get, especially in the case of high-rise buildings, is very low-quality. The government, as it is, gives the contract to the lowest bidder, and there is corruption involved there, too. The contractor has to make his profit, so what he makes is even lower quality than what the budget allows. It is a vicious cycle. The standard amenities, if any, fall out of repair very quickly. This is an authentic representation.
