Yes, with the right patter and performance this trick really amazes people. And no slight of hand skills required at all! I just love tricks of that kind!

a good explanation with nifty handling that avoids the usual preparatory set-up. One aspect of this effect that most overlook is in overselling the effect by dealing out the entire deck making it 'perfectly impossible'. I suggest keeping a few cards in the hand, revealing the effect worked with the cards to which the spectator directed the lay down. For another variation that differs from the rest yet amplifies the performer's card control mastery, refer to Derek Dingle's Out of This World with prediction of exactly how many cards will be in the wrong piles [name of his effect escapes me but should be easy to find]. It's in his Complete Works and has a fairly direct title. The separation occurs but not perfectly, however a prediction [number card] matches the number of cards misplaced giving redemption to the performer, the spectator and the effect itself.

I had heard of this trick before, but had never seen it performed, or if I would be able to pull it off myself. But it's a cool trick, and you did a good job of explaining it. Nice job.

A very good video - the tricky part I guess is sorting them on the fly, esp if you have them cut and shuffle the deck.

If you refere to the performance of Glenn Falkenstein; he sets the deck up right in front of the spectators within the trick he does first. So he uses one trick to set up the one that follows. Very deceptive!

If you see closely, when the magician shuffles the card he puts all red cards faced down and all black cards faced up. He also puts the red card on one side and black card on the other side as you can see he turns the deck around when he is putting the different coloured cards in. so then all the red cards are facing down in one pile and all the black cards are facing up, also together. If you also look closely he turns half of the deck over (the black deck) and so it's half red and half black.
@jameselder9709
@jameselder9709 10 жыл бұрын
after the cards are shuffled,do you put them in all red and black order,to make it look like your mixing the cards even more,before asking what cards are what,or can you just leave them mixed,and ask spectator what cards are black and what are red,and put them in order then?
@Zeemas
@Zeemas 11 жыл бұрын
This guy's concept is correct. No matter if its an audience or the magician, the arrangement of the deck is right. The only thing this guy missed is the preparation of the deck before the trick. When you or an audience shuffle the normal deck, after the shuffle, you have to do something to discretely prepare the deck for this trick where a bunch of it is red and the other black. Something like a side trick before the actual trick.

he does his ambitious card trick look that up and you should find a good tutorial. and then at the end for the kicker he rips up the 2 and puts it in her hand then shows the camera its the 2 later, and when he does that he puts a folded (not ripped) 2 in her hand and then he makes her squeeze it and says he repaired it. its a great trick and if you learn it well it will impress :)

After switching it up you can also give the deck to the other person so they can do the guessing all themselves. The flipping part is not going to be noticed unless you do it fast and obvious.

@jtibo1 i think pipri45654 meant that the deck was spread and the person could take any card they wanted, not in order.. so even if it was separated before hand, it wouldn't be after the guy picked cards randomly
@Meanderthal17
@Meanderthal17 11 жыл бұрын
Yeah you're right. The professional magicians just shuffle it specifically to have the cards manipulated to red/black on top and vice versa. The old professional video "World's professional magic - Out of this world" shows you that clearly.

My friend did this is a little differently. But what he did was he told me he did this trick for a guy, and want the person to shuffle the deck. So he goes on "shuffling" the deck like this and my friend made it seem like "Wtf, why would you shuffle like that? its ruined", and i believed him. He then proceeded to show me that with one snap of his finger, all the red and black were separated and facing each other. I said "Wtf?" and then figured it out in the next 5 second.

Problem is, a lot of people like screwing with card tricks. If you asked me to do this, I would put all of the cards in one pile right off the bat which would make the trick painfully obvious.

IMHO I THINK THIS TRICK IS BETTER PERFORMED WHEN THE DECK IS RIFFLE SHUFFLED FIRST, ALONG WITH A COUPLE OF CUTS, EVEN GET THE SPECTATOR TO CUT, SEARCH OUT A RED AND BLACK ACE FOR YOUR MARKERS AND THE REST IS HISTORY. THIS IS GREAT WITH A BRAND NEW DECK AS THE CARDS ARE IN THE ORDER NECESSARY FOR THE RIFFLE. STILL IT'S A CLASSIC SWCT.
@101perspective

I've seen pros do it diff than this guy, but the trick works the same. They are only fancier with it. For example, they might have the audience person shuffle and then they just do a deck switch. And they almost always have a marker card in the center to let them know when the suits switch. I seen one pro let someone else select the marker card... but it is a force and the switched deck already has that same marker card in it.

How do you set up the deck without them noticing you do it? In the beginning you have to show that the order is random in the deck. How do you get all the reds and blacks together without making it obvious?

well first you need to have a 'marker card' that they choose. you place that card face up where the blacks and reds separate. so when they get to that marker card, you switch sides like in the video (black and red switch rows) and then yeah. :D

So the spectator can hold and deal the cardsbthemselves go through the deck and turn one over before the trick, in other words the last one of the red section and have that as a "marker card". When they get to it, stop them and use that as the new red, then just take any black as the change and everything is good.
