I agree about the fact that boats have become unaffordable these days. But it is still possible to find great second hand boats which don't have all these fancy accessories that make the price too high!

Lots of good info. I always hear about not using the grey fuel line with liner but when I go to buy it for projects I don't always know what is the "good" fuel line. What brand and model do you use or would you recommend?

wow such an honor my question got diagnoses here! you are the best! to follow up, i have changed the little 10 dollars fuel filter inside the engine, it looked never been changed. also i tuned and sync the four carbs pressure. it is back to easy to start mode. but you are very right! i have recently left the engine idle little before it shut it down every time, it is great help. will clean the carbs next up!🎉 thank you again!

My Yamaha V4 130 used to have hard warm restarts. Pain in the fucking ass. But since then, I did a near complete overhaul of the fuel system, fuel lines, carbies cleaned, engine de-carboned, new thermostats, impeller, plugs. Also run Rydlyme through it to clean cooling passages. The thing turns over first click now when warm, as it would have when it was shiny and new.

my 03 port side FICHT 150 would do this every time we went out, cold start no problem, then ran perfect all the way till we stopped and shut down, and it would not start till we let it cool down, and then eventually start and run with no problems again, finally after plugging into the computer and talking to the motor, I could see odd temperature readings, took it in and reflashed the EMM in order to solve the problem been running perfect ever since. I LOVE my 2 strokes!

i will definitely repower a military boat because it’s special and sentimental. most of them are built very tough. civilian boat i would just buy a new one.

I’d like to hear your thoughts on Sailfish boats. I just got a 20 year old 236 CC that’s in really good shape and have been happy with it so far. The “big 5” you said to look out for on old boat were all good. Just wondering if there was anything specific you’ve heard of to watch out for.

Yamaha f350 2012 when stars low oil pressure alarm after shutdown alarm doesn’t show up again I did check oil levels everything is good, I did check the engine with the computer and no history of this alarm

If I bought an engine that does have some salt buildup in it from the previous owner not rinsing it, what can I do to clean everything?

Hey,,, I’m a subscriber,,, and I was wondering i loaned my boat to a friend and the people who were on the boat said he was plowing with the boat low rpm wide open throttle,,, can this cause the valves to get water on them and stick ,,, I have to rebuild the heads now ,,,,,,,, oh it was rough also.
