[OUTDATED] Baiken Combo Guide - Confirms, Counter Hits and Mix

Some of these combos still work, however a lot of them are now invalid due to the season 3 changes.
Notations are displayed at the top of the screen for each combo. If you have any questions, comment down below and I will answer them as best as I can.

At 3:40 there is a typo in the combo notation although the clip shows the correct combo, replace the IAD j.S j.236S with IAD j.236K.

Very useful and to the point conversions . Even for stray hits like CH tatami . Very good 👍 i wrote all of them down in my notes .

I haven't added it at the end of every combo to keep notations short, however you can always get a safejump tatami after 426HSHS by inputting IAD j.236K, and a safejump j.H after 236K

These are great. Thanks for making this. I've been trying to play Baiken more lately, but her kit never seemed to gel with me. I think these will help a lot.

How are you able to dash and connect after the tatami? I can only dash and they are too low to hit them. You did it 1:02, 1:59

Make sure you're doing the combo on counter hit 6K/236K/2D

@@themynx1 I do have counter hit on. Im trying to do 1:02 but it only work if I let 1 hit of the 2D land. If I let both hits land she is too slow to hit after dash.

@@charismagraves9983 Without a clip I'm not sure what could be causing your c.S to miss. After 236K it's only a microdash so make sure you cancel into c.S early. Worst case scenario you can also do 5K 426HH instead which is less damage but easier

i am trying the combo at 1:48 but everytime I do the last part after the close s they either bounce too far or too low, could you help me with that or is it just super hard to do. i've done it a handfull times only

Unfortunately the new patch overhauled some of Baiken's combo routes and unified character weights, that combo may straight up not work anymore, I have yet to test it. I will look into uploading a revised combo video for patch 3.0 within the next few weeks.

Stupid question. I can do every combo in the video except #2 at 0:16. I don't understand what you mean by crouch and my inputs look the same. I can never get f.s to combo into 2h. Any tips what I'm doing wrong?

It only works on crouching opponents, if they're not crouching then you don't really get anything out of f.S meterlessly

Hey just to make sure, is the combo at 1:25 still doable? The part after the dust where you close slash is really difficult and idk why it’s not connecting

Hey, Baiken hasn't received any changes (except parry going from 6f to 7f) since I posted this video so it's still up to date. 5[D] might not connect from CH 2HS from very far distances, especially on heavy characters, in those situations you'll have to improvise the route (i.e c.S 5H 236K instead of c.S 5[D] ~ c.S ...) Hope this helps

You can either use the dash macro or instead of inputting 426H for HKabari you would input 4266H, since 66 is a dash. You can only do this off of 5K or c.S since those are her only dash cancelable moves

The 2HS CH combo doesn't work on heavies. For example Im using Goldlewis to test these combos. I cant get the 5[D] after C.S

Sorry for the late answer but it does work, it's just that the heavier the character, the closer you have to be to land the fully charged 5[D], it's kinda finicky If you feel you're far enough that 5[D] won't hit, you can try going for c.S/5K 6H 236K 2K dl c.S 6H 426HH Unfortunately at some ranges even SKabari won't hit so not much you can do about it there

@@themynx1 I'm struggling with this on heavies as well. Does it not work if you're too far when you land 2HS CH? Or do you just have to adjust the timing of your 5[D]? For example, I can't seem to get it to work at round start spacing.

@@kari123qtp It won't work on heavies at round start spacing for sure, you'll have to adapt the route there, i.e c.S/5K 6H 236K etc

Do you mean the 5K > DC > 426HH? You can essentially cancel the dash after 5K (and c.S) into a special move, timing can be a bit awkward to learn though. It's helpful for situations where the first hit of HKabari wouldn't hit

to do all those combos we all know your on pc its easy to hit buttons on a keyboard then using a controller for us on consoles because thats the way were use to playing fighting games cant do all those combos unless your on pc which is why all the top 100 players in the ranking are pc players with no lives

These combos are more than doable regardless of if you're playing on pad, hitbox, stick or keyboard and of your platform, however if you need help landing any of them feel free to ask for help here and I will do my best to help you out
