I am SO excited to share with you this foundation hack I learned recently from a makeup artist at MAC! As a makeup artist myself for over 20 years I have mixed products before, but as far as I can remember, it's only been two different foundation formulas or shades. It was eye opening to see this hack used on my mom, who is 76 years old. This combination looked incredible on her, and I love it on my 50 year old face as well! As a 55 year old, I get a lot of compliments on my skin...my “foundation”? A drop of NYX serum concealer and a drop of Supergoop tinted sunscreen on each cheek...buff in with my brush..nice and natural and glowy.

I do this too but just do a layer of the supergoop glow screen then my foundation with a brush. It gives a glow that isn’t too much but just enough!

It would work amazing with the True Match nude hyaluranic foundation. That is light coverage but looks so amazing on the skin. And then any concealer you like. My favourite drugstore concealer is makeup Revolution conceal & define. Creamy and full coverage without being thick and cakey. Hourglass also makes a great one specifically for retouching later in the day.

Interesting. I am going to try this with my Fenty Beauty Sheer Tint. I like the product but it's a challenge to make it last all day long. Usually, I don't like mixing the products with a foundation. But I'll try this. It's always nice to see and hear your reviews. You are such a pro what comes to make up!

I feel like this could be a good way to use up concealer that doesn’t quite work under the eyes, or to lighten foundation that's too dark, or even just a good travel hack if you only want to bring a sheer foundation for the trip. Thank you!

What a great idea to mix concealer with the foundation! I was running into the same problem with a medium coverage foundation (where I really needed more coverage), so adding concealer seems perfect. Thanx so much for this tip!

Wow I tried this today! I’m 49 and have oily skin and I like full coverage. This technique was a game changer. I Added alittle concealer which made my makeup appear more skin like and added coverage without being cakey. I’m at 10 hours and it has seemed to last longer than just using Foundation.Thank you Risa for always giving us the tricks to keep us more youthful and beautiful. It's ironic that I mix the Wet n Wild Tinted Hydrator with the NYX Bare With Me concealer. I started doing this because the lightest shade of the Wet n Wild product is still too dark for me. But now I love the coverage, and the fact that I don't use any other concealer!

I’ve been adding foundation or concealer all depending on season, and reason to my lotions, potions and sunscreens for 30+ years, (currently 49ish lol), long before BB creams were ever a thing. I love seeing this hack.. I taught my daughters to mix and match to color match and get the coverage they wanted years ago, since foundations were so limited when I started at 16, and being OCD, I had to match lol, no grannie lines here, ever lol. I use my concealers up as foundation with moisturizer to use them.up...love this method. Kulfi is the best concealer...I can also mix a pink colour corrector with it. .Also I buy a candle base clear one in the dollar store as my palette ❤

I did this this morning and it worked great! I can also see mixing in a concealer to other foundations to get the shade you want. I only recently started watching you, but ive learned so much & upped my makeup game. I never wore it much before because i felt like i looked clownish lol. My foundation hack at 69: Layer one is Kryolan TV Paint Stick in 1W (I'm fair). Put on with a brush. Layer two is Bare Minerals matte powder foundation in medium beige 12. Put on with a brush. Wow. Complete and total coverage.

You look fantastic! You quite literally look my age versus old enough to be my mum. Any other pointers? Mine for the 50 and under crowd is: 1) Sunscreen from birth 2) Start moisturizing after bathing/washing but definitely as puberty kicks in, if not before 3) Wash face every day with gentle cleanser, followed by moisturizing and using sunscreen, paying special attention to face, neck, decolletage, hands, ears and lips (cancer for last two, often neglected) 4) Hydrate 5) Live life in moderation but no smoking and alcohol is easily avoided. One can make an argument for very light drinking. I have never cared for it. 6) Avoid diet fads and extremes. Aim for your optimal health without obsessing. Yo yo dieting, crash diets, malnutrition, etc. can show its effects on your skin long after you stop. Move your body. Stretch every day, do light weights, walk/swim/chair yoga/move your body. And, of course, remember that you ARE beautiful. Good mental health, confidence. CONFIDENCE! Confidence and a smile.

Hi Risa! ❤I want to thank you do much for your content and talents! Your tutorials has literally changed my. Life!! ❤ I only just begun taking my skin care seriously as I do in January of this year. I had written off the chance of ever being able to put a cream or a liquid around my eyes ever again because it always aged me. So recently using the color corrector and a concealer and oh my goodness what a difference a! However, I do have one problem, the little corners of your eyes that sit on either side of the bridge of your nose are such a problem! No matter what technique I use or what product I use that skin is nearly impossible to cover nothing wants to stick to it. I have tried applying at setting spray first, I always use an eyelid primer, I've tried using setting spray in between layers of color corrector and concealer and no matter if I dab, tap, or lightly brush the area the product will not stick to that skin.Would You consider doing it to tutorial that addresses this? I know I can't be the only 50 year old woman out there struggling with this! Thank you

It works also for light coverage foundation to make it full coverage 👍 I recommend you to try Givenchy concealer it is amaziiing you have to try it. Since Im in 40s ,you will see no fine line under eyes after foundation ..,you have to try it

I’ve been doing this for about a year with IT Cosmetics Nude Glow (I have very dry 54 year old skin). I mix with Catrice True Skin concealer to get extra coverage for my sun spots. Great combo!

I've been doing this for years! It gives me the coverage I need in my "trouble areas" while also giving me a very natural flawless finish on the rest of my face. I use a light to medium foundation such as loreal true match with a fuller coverage concealer. I've even done this with a lighter concealer such as NYX bare with me concealer. Works beautifully ever time! Sometimes I use powder and other times I don't. Just depends on what my skin needs are that day. Now I see that the concealer is in a squeeze tube rather than a pot or a doe foot applicator. I will try that method tomorrow. I have a lot of concealers but only one in a squeezable tube. I'll never forget that look on your mom's face when she saw how gorgeous her makeup ( and*she*) looked! I'm 60 and still haven't found that foundation that doesn't cling to the slightest dry patch or peach fuzz I missed even when using a tiny drop. I feel like I'd have to get a pro dermaplane every single day. All I want is something that doesn't actually make me look worse than when I started😅

More hyaluranic and moisturizer! Evening and morning! That’s what made all the difference for me. Also spritz a hydrating spray before the hyaluraic or slightly wet your face so it has extra moisture to hold in. Are you using retinA, glycolic etc? If so it could be that you need to use it less often. Sometimes the chemical exfoliators really dehydrate our face

Hi, have you tried the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Hydrading Longwear Foundation? It’s not full coverage, which is what I like, but it does not settle into my fine lines and it does not settled where I get wrinkly with the movement of my face. I turn 54 this year and found the Fenty one, and was so pleased and am on my 5th bottle/tube, I have been using it since it launched. I use both the Hydrating and the Matte, I am in color 150; which for the first time in my life, matches me perfectly…..I will never be without this. But, as for concealer, nothing “doesn’t” settle…..lets hope someone has a thought. Hopefully you can get a sample to try…..I am light skinned with neutral undertones ( I am both pink with yellow/olive tones) and I have rosacea and oily/dehydrated skin with dryness near my nose and middle chin. Good luck to you, as I know it is super frustrating.

The MAC face and body foundation works well on my 62 year old skin. Also, it applies best with fingers working one area at a time. Its light to medium coverage but looks so natural on my skin. I will try the mixing with concealer to see the effect.

Try L"oreal age perfect serum foundation SPF 50, it has a nice dewy finish that doesn't pick up every hair follicle.

@@mmcjrc2000 , you sound like me 😂 I recently turned 54 and have light olive skin with roseaca as well and oily/combo, I love the Urban Decay Stay Naked foundation in shade 30 NN , I don't care for the Estee lauder Double wear in 2N1 Dessert Beige color right but it's too heavy for me , I'm gonna try the Fenty one. I have Nars light reflection one it's ok i have the shade Vienna.

I tried this with my Clinique Even Better liquid foundation and concealer today, and it worked great. It did give me more coverage but still with a natural look. I also added setting spray to mix together. My makeup lasted for the whole day. I didn't even need to touch up. Love this foundation hack!

Not all concealers and foundations will mix well. They may look good when 1st applied, but at some point they may separate, giving you cake face, or emphasize skin texture. I tried this hack one time and when I got home and looked in the mirror, I was mortified how my skin looked.

Your mom is gorgeous Risa! I’m definitely going to try this hack tomorrow with my Kosas foundation, which is kind of on the sheer side, and the Kosas concealer !

I already usually mix two foundations. I have 2 Sephora Best Skin Ever, one is 22.N, the other 27P and mixed, they just match me very well. I also mix Haus 250 (which is supposed to be neutral, but is a little yellow on me). I mix it with Catrice True Skin 030. I happen to think it looks good and helps me match. (I didn't save the receipt for the Haus foundation at Sephora and couldn't exchange for a better match). I will try this. I have so many foundations and concealers!!! This will help me use them up! Thanks, Risa. I'm 65, so a little younger than mom.

Loved this video and the one with your beautiful Mom, I am 71 and heading out to Mac now, I have been wearing their lipsticks and shadows since they opened their first store in Canada in the very early seventies
