That pad eye needs a backing block at least 3/4“ thick and twice the diameter of the pad, to help distribute the load. There is a considerable load from the main sheet.

Try using a drain basket in shower - that will prevent a lot of the larger things from clogging the drain below and maybe pushing out the cleaning an extra 1-2 weeks.

Generally all halyards both masts are controlled at the masts. Not led back...mine is a 65 foot formosa...no friction with all those turning blocks etc..these are proper sailing traditional ships...

Teak oil is the way but if not Done well the first time and Continued on regular schedule never seems to last Very long before drying out again and losing the glossy Look. There must be a trick to it of when to reapply. a lot Of teak is never ending Maintenance. Coatings make Too slippery and defeat absorption of oil.

Real teak in this day is great for inside and casework but exterior…synthetic is the way to go. There are many recent advancements in synthetic decking and trim.
