Funny when you said that your mouth was salivating, because I was thinking to myself, "Man, my mouth is watering right now." Great cook Chris!

Well that is something I haven't seen before! Really nice technique Chris! I have an old school sous vide machine that would be perfect for this. It's just a tank and no circulator. You got my wheels spinning on using this method on other things as well as steak. Great video!

DANG! an amazing experiment guess the Butter poached Ribeye Steak had a more of a savory taste than the regular cooked Ribeye Steak but they both looked fantastic. Thanks for sharing have a great weekend.

Craziness....and I like it. I never would have thought of poaching a steak in butter, but damn if I am not tempted to do that. I have poached a fair amount of stuff and yes in butter but never would have thought of doing a steak in there, and that looked soooooo tender and juicy... oh yeah I can see this happening. Nice work Chris... truly nice work!

Just came over from Mike’s channel! Nice cook! That was over the top, but I like the technique! I have brushed clarified butter on my steaks for a final sear, but I am sure this was much different?

I've had butter poached rib eye before and my opinion is I like the non-butter poached rib eye better. Seems the butter poached steak has less 'meat' flavor than the non butter poached steak. Don't get me wrong, the butter poached steak was fantastic, it's just that I like the butter on after the sear. Thanks for the comparison Chris.

How close to ghee is your clarified butter? would ghee be an acceptable substitute? Clarifying 4 lbs of butter is time consuming and expensive. don't know what ghee costs. Otherwise, really nice comparison.

I am wondering if you can have used a sous vide circulator for temp control without the butter ruining the circulator. Also why use clarified butter if the high temp is only going to be around 130. I only use clarified if I am worried that the milk solids will burn.

At 58 Seconds, nervous much? "I've got these great 2-ounce thick rib eyes". And the first few beats of your barbecue music sounded like the beginning of Grand Funk Railroad's Some Kind Of Wonderful which would have been a more perfectly suited song.

Great question. I'm not 100 percen sure. Try it and compare it to a steak you would normally cook for a contest.
