If you're a steak lover, this video is for you! In this video i'm going to show you how to reverse sear a ribeye steak in a Weber kettle!
The reverse sear method I like to use for any steaks that are around 1inch or more in thickness. Reverse searing cooks the steak much slower, meaning the internal temperature rises much slower too so it's easier to get that perfect doneness!
Here's the steps I took to cook this steak below:
- Got some briquettes going
- Trimmed and seasoned my ribeye steak
- Got my Weber running at around 150c/300F
- Put some bourbon barrel oak wood on my lit briquettes
- Got my ribeye steak in and then flipped half way through the cook
- Took my ribeye steak to an internal temperature of 52c/125F
- Rested my ribeye steak for around 15 minutes
- Got some more briquettes going
- Finished my ribeye steak off with a good sear on all sides
- Sliced and enjoyed
If you've got a Weber kettle, here's a video showing a few different set ups you can use: • How to Set Up a Weber ...
Here's a video on Weber kettle fire management too: • Weber Kettle Fire Mana...
Ribeye steaks would have to be one of my favourite steaks, definitely in my top 3!
I hope you enjoy the video, it's a great one for a beginner or any steak lovers!
Now go cook a ribeye steak!

The color in that steak is insane. I’ve been making mine exclusively in cast iron or carbon steel pans exclusively for a few years now. I’m just getting into charcoal grilling so I’m gonna give a try. Great video.

Do you find the rib eye closest to the chuck end more tender ? I’ve found that when I buy one with a large fat cap it never renders and is chewy, yet when I bit it closer to the chuck end with little to no centre fat it’s usually a lot more tender and tastier, maybe you could do a vid and cook one from each end of the same rib eye roast to see which one is more tender, also love to see you do a chuck steak reverse sear like a rib eye, I find it amazing, cheers Brother
