Glad you enjoyed this little holiday adventure. That shootable sandcastle is a little cryptic, I'll admit. The only reason I didn't tag the invul as a secret was because I knew a lot of people would never find it and it would drive them crazy hunting the missing secret. Little did I realise they would go crazy hunting for the missing item instead. Lol.

This is a completely accurate simulation of living in a port town when a cruise ship docks. Especially when they suddenly teleport to everywhere in the city at once like locusts

A couple things about this video. The final item spawns if you shoot the cute sand castle in the secret. And in the "You winned the game" level, if you keep shooting the imp he will eventually teleport onto the motor of your boat, blowing it up and taking you with him.

The only bad thing about Cyriak's comeback is that it's way too short, leaves one wanting more. Let's hope he decides to make a full megawad next time.

This entire wad feels like the playable version of a Gaming Gargoyle machinima. I absolutely love it.

Here is some more useless trivia: The crates you tried jumping into initially held revenants. As you walk north along the beach you will trigger a linedef that wakes them up, and they will open the boxes to get out. The triggers only open the boxes from the inside. I think various crates have washed ashore from the boat that sank in the first map. Just past the revenant crates is a much larger crate full of pinkies (with some barrels next to it), and at the extreme northeast end of the beach is a broken-open crate with a backpack. Of course the crate with the BFG ends up in the hidden cave under the lighthouse. To reach the sandcastle secret, once you shoot the imp bartender and climb over the bar to raid all the booze from the shelf behind him (rude!), you can interact with the wall panel to your left and it will slide open. It happens in your video you switched to the automap the moment after you touched the wall. and by the time you switched back again it was already open. As has already been mentioned, to reveal the invulnerability sphere at the sandcastle secret, you have to wreck the sandcastle, either by shooting or punching it. This also works if you're standing directly on top of it. I think the large apparently slime-filled container outside the window of the bar is supposed to be a hot tub. It's hard to see in all the chaos but once you enter the bar, two chaingunners will appear in front of the couch by the window (and arachnotrons will spawn outside). Once you kill the chaingunners, walk towards the couch and you will cross another linedef and through the window you'll see a shotgunner pop up out of the tub. (He was just trying to enjoy a nice relaxing soak until you came along.) The smaller, narrower lifts on the castle walls are not initially accessible: at first they are locked and have upside-down red crosses on them. They become unlocked once you press the yellow switch to open the temple containing the gas cans and cyberdemons. There are additional lifts sprinkled throughout the map. For example, at the extreme northeast end of the beach, the rocky cliff face behind and to the left the crate with the backpack is also a lift. However this lift won't activate until you climb the stone steps to the south and cross a linedef near the top. The northeast corner of the castle is also a lift, though at first it only drops down to reveal an arch-vile and other monsters. Once you collect the yellow key it will rise back up again, however it seems only monsters can then lower it again. I think the boat at the end of the pier spawns two waves of enemies that teleport to the beach: first imps and shotgunners (and pinkies?) and later hell knights and revenants. But because there are no maritime safety laws in heck, the demons have recklessly over-loaded it with exploding barrels. If you've already collected the secret BFG, walk to the end of the pier to trigger the first wave of enemies and then fire a BFG shot at back of the boat, where a cluster of barrels should be visible. This should set off a chain reaction and kill the second wave of monsters early. The "plus" version of this map has 666 enemies.

you actually can kill that imp in the boat map, you need to keep shooting at it with a hitscan weapon and it will teleport to your boat, you will then death exit and go to NG+

I haven't commented on a decino run in a year. Things have been tough but one thing hasn't changed it's this channel. You never know what crazy wad this guy is going to do next... I mean there's a bar tending imp. Wouldn't be surprised if there was a pinky "rocking spring horse" that just bites everyone when they try to ride it.

I have seen a lot of great moments on this channel... that Decino, searching his heart out, didn't try to shoot the obvious X-sign on the sand castle in the secret area which would have spawned an Invulnerbality onto the wooden bank behind it as the last missing item... is certainly a moment.

I know plenty of people have told you about the sandcastle, but what I haven't seen anyone mention is that in earlier versions of the WAD, there was a large X over the castle that you could see on the map after grabbing the computer area map. That made for a good hint to find that secret and to check the castle for "treasure." But now, the X is only visible with iddt. I wonder why Cyriak changed that.

On top of all the other praise, I love how the soundtrack mixes Cyriak's goofy style with 50's rock-and-roll, it's like an Elvis movie made entirely on ketamine.

I love how the shotgun is taking a vacation on the blanket under the umbrella at the start.

This series of levels look really slick and what I kind of always wanted from Doom Maps. Whenever Doom Maps have very clear geography, layout, and design, I always appreciate them. To add to that, the levels look "fun" which is an added bonus. A lot of times a level might be well designed but it doesn't look "fun" but all of these levels look like it is something an average player could run into and enjoy.

This is a cute detail I've seen all my friends who have played this map miss because the turn around too fast, but when you shoot barrels on the war ship near the beach on the left, it causes explosions throughout the whole thing that kill all the imps on board as well as the "captain" at the top.

This was very fun to watch, and gave me some good ideas for the megawad I'm working on

Man this wad is really impressive and also very very cute! Enemy placement is perfect and the design is simple but VERY effective. The last few maps I was thinking they would be perfect if only a little bit more difficult so I'm glad to see 400+ enemies! 🥰🥰😍😍😇😇

The sheer amount of Doom Cute in this wad is overwhelming. Not as much as Going Down, but still good.

After watching Going Down and this, and seeing Decino's reactions to it all, i am convinced cyriak is a god tier mapper and i REALLY want to see more of what he is capable of. Just fantastic.

I think the last item was in the sand castle, in the secret place with just 1 health bonus in map06. Think you need to shoot it or something. As for map7, shoot the imp some more and get a surprise. With hitscan. ;)

I hope you let the imps infight with the Cyberdemons in your NG+ run. Seems like it could be great fun watching that. Splash damage from the rockets will probably cause a massive fight. Fantastic WAD btw, love the completely different setting and all the Doom cute.

I love the X from the Exit sign being a flag, and it kinda hints at the idea that you have to interact with the sandcastle.

It didn't say but an ultra hidden (optional) secret was found at 0:40 when the souls of the Imps powered the Imp motor in your boat. Truly one of the secrets of all time, bravo cyriak! 👏

Its not a difficult fight anyway but I found that BFG secret quite early on in my first attempt and it made that yellow key room very very easy lol. I did get rekt a couple times by the cybies later on though. It's so difficult to see their rockets amongst the imp hordes! Superb little map set, well done and thanks to Mouldy and thanks decino for the runs. 👍😉

When that Imp said "bruh", I felt that. Bruh indeed, mr. Imp, bruh indeed. In another note, the theme for this two maps was decino being this close to finding the last thing and yet walking away at the last possible second.

This was an amazing wad and I thoroughly enjoyed joining you for this journey. Cyriak is a brilliant map maker and truly knows how the Doom engine works and how to utilise it to make complex and unique maps filled with "Doom-cute" Easter eggs. Would it be possible for you to do a interview like thing with Cyriak to find out the developer process and how he made this wad. I'm so intriguing by how he did things like having the whole map above your head when in the upside-down area.

I've played a ton of games where the balance between a location that is both believable and fun to play in is all over the place, yet cyriak flexes his mastery by having both at the same time in every map of Going Down and most of Overboard. Man is a legend, and decino makes the maps look easy lmao

Imagine that you're having a peaceful beach holiday, chilling with your fellow demons, and some Dutch guy shows up calmly saying “Greetings everyone”. And he has the audacity to demand a pina colada! Holiday spoiled.
