Overcoming CREATIVE BLOCK with colour play

When I'm feeling anxious, stuck, or in a creative block, I give myself permission to open my sketchbook and just play with colour. I just fill the page and go with the flow. It’s intuitive. I play until the colours take on a life of their own and connect with each other.
I would love to know if you guys do the same or have any other ways of managing creative blocks.

Love this idea! Allowing ourselves the freedom of just playing as opposed to having the pressure of creating something. And in the end what you were left with is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing

Thank you so much for your lovely soothing videos. Playing until getting calm is such an opposite to the tendency that is taught in our current society. I love it, it's an amazing added dimension to my current philosophy of following the fun. 😁☘️

Wow, what a lovely video, so relaxing and calming too! Watching all you created in your sketchbook, I realize I don't play in my art journey enough. Everything always has a need to be an end result instead of just allowing. Good lead on what this month will be about, allowing more play and exploration in the medium. Thanks for this lovely insight. You created some real gems in that sketchbook. I loved seeing too all your other little pieces of art , it felt like a creative space filled with LOVE.🧡✨🧡

@@parularora I struggle every single day with anxiety and multiple mental health and life challenges. Thank you for sharing something personal. There are lots of people like us who I'm sure will find this helpful and encouraging just as I do. Such a simple, calm and uncomplicated way to ground oneself again with lovely results. Permission to be playful and just ease into our art practice gently. Being creatively blocked sucks. It can be so frustrating. Lovely! I tend to do some observational drawing while listening to music - every time a song ends I grab a different pen or colour and continue drawing. Also works 😆
