Thank you for showing this trick. I just tested this on level 4-5 on PC (steam) and the plate went across. It is very tricky for the angle to be right... because the plate wants to land on the conveyor or the spot next to the button. I suggest putting an item next to the button so the plate doesn't stick to that open spot.
