Overdrive Initiative Phase 2 is live! It's a fairly straight forward affair but there are some nuances so I hope this short guide will help anyone struggling take the fight to Xenothreat!!

I should mention that in order to access the Phase 2 mission, you need to complete the Phase 1 mission set.

Which means it's too late now to complete all missions for those who missed phase 1?

@@merlinfanboy556 no just if you haven’t done phase 1 you’ll need to start there before you get phase 2 pop up.

At about 3:50, you mentioned that "it's much harder to hit a stationary target", which I suspect is not what you meant to say. Thank you for doing videos on events like these! Even though I don't like combat and would have no interest in doing things like this, it's great to know that these resources are around for those who do.

Another quality video. What I appreciate about your vids is the subtle standard KZfaq comments without the used car salesman approach. Asking for likes and subscribes or comments is important if someone is trying to grow a channel, but, you do it with a lot of class and your approach to this and the videos in general is appreciated. Even the way you solicit your SC referral code is quite classy and the reason I chose to use your code when I subbed originally. I thought it worth mentioning that some of us notice this and respect it. It’s why your channel is my favorite SC channel.

Cheers David 👍 it’s one of those odd things where you kinda have to say it somewhere if you want to grow your channel, but I hate being too pushy - to my mind at the start of the vid I’ve got to give you a reason to keep watching, not ask you to subscribe without even giving you a reason to 😂

I've been a bit of a dumb dumb and bought myself the F7C MK2, but haven't put time into SC for a bit. So I'll be hopping into the FRCN Discord soon to see if anyone is up for some Overdrive chains and willing to carry me through them

Yah or ask in chat. I’d throw some more guns on the F7C personally. The last mission for phase 2 I had to solo a hammerhead along with other fighters. Couldn’t have done it without more guns. Almost didn’t make it.i went full ballistics 3 size 4’s and 1s3 ballistic cannon. I’ve seen people grouping in chat.

@@Vioblight the base F7C isn't anything to write home about, but I like it's updated design, way more sleek compared to the MK1, I just don't get its canopy, I preferred the forward sliding one (seems sturdier), its profile will be very recognisable (especially for the people that will have played SQ42) and it looks like it would be smack dab in the middle of the medium fighter meta (versatile, but average). I promised myself to not buy any more fighters, but with ONE exception: military variants! So here I am xD I've had mixed success with playing with randoms gathered from global, but some of them have been the greatest or most fun experiences I've had in SC

Corsair for the win, especially as you may have to pop a Hammerhead, then QT 86 mil km to drop off- I wore disposable armour so I just backspaced back to Serephim, then my group started the next mission. There really needs to be some reward for each level to ensure you actually have cleared each phase, like a CDF undersuit or helmet

If you are short on help for this phase, I recommend grabbing a cutty and putting a crossfield QT drive in it. Connies also work. If you have 2 friends, grab a redeemer. And if you are having a hard time getting anyone, join the Frontier community and your problems will be over.

I definitely recommend switching from lead to lag pips. I made the switch last week. Though it’s counterintuitive at first, I’m able to get kills noticeably quicker now.

Just spent 10 minutes trying to dropoff the key at the kiosk only for it to pertinently refuse to open. "Request not found" my ass, just your typical CIG quality in-game event x)

The drop off kiosk could be in Admin, or the cargo centre, and you need to equip the key before clicking the drop-off button.

From what read you can earn the upgrade for the F7a without owning it; purchase of the mkiii civilian didn’t seem necessary

You’ll earn the upgrade and it will be there in your hangar, but to apply it you would need an F7C MK2 👍

Thanks for the info about the current Overdrive phase. I have maybe silly question, but it means that I could not apply the F7A mk2 upgrade, if I have only upgraded to F7C mk2. It means that I have to buy warbond only in order to apply the upgrade? Thanks in advance for the info.

Hi mate - don't worry there are no silly questions! If you have upgraded to the F7C Mk2 using store credit you will still be able to apply the CCU to the F7A Mk 2 when you get it. The main advantage to the warbond version is the discount and the fact it comes with LTI (Lifetime Insurance) but tbh I personally think people worry way too much about insurance. If you need any help or advice with CCU's / Warbonds or any of the weird terminology that goes with buying space jpegs then please feel free to hop into our discord (link in vid description) and people will be more than happy to help explain anything / steer you around some of the common pitfalls.

For my 1/3 I had a cutty and for my 2/3 I also had a cutty and some ramming npcs that took out my lightning. I got my revenge by hijacking their ship and completing my mission.

done the first mission twice now, easily defeating the ships, but unable to proceed because the card, even though it goes into my inventory, doesn't progress the mission. the location stays in empty space where the card used to be.

It's a bit inconsistent. Our 1/3 had 2 Hammerhead squads with almost a dozen escorts but others were saying they got Vanguards and Cutlasses and Valkyries. Almost felt like the bunker infinite spawn bug. We kited them apart and chipped away though. By the time we got to 3/3 server 30k right before turning in key and I broke out the Eclipse and we speed ran the last Hammerhead again lol.

They may scale it up depending on the amount of players in the group, i soloed it and it was about the same as vhrt on the first two and ert on the last

I tried doing the 3/3 last night..... there were 3... 3!!!! packs of Hammerheads with escorts in the same area... (guessing 3 of us on the server were attempting it at the same time).... i tried to pull only mine, but got jumped by all 3 packs and had to run away with my tail between my legs XD

HHead killed my Andromeda ai gets scary once you hit a certain server fps ... luckily a buddy of mine stayed and kited that monster around an asteroid while keeping one facing of the hhead under pressure and i jumped back in with a ballistics loadout (ad4b) f7C 2 and one clipped that thing

So I completed 1-5 during week one. I just completed 1/3 for this new mission set but in my history all of the 1/5-5/5 missions are gone…? Is this normal? Am I still gonna get credit ?

The whole thing is really buggy and CIG are well aware, I wouldn’t worry at all - if you got phase 2 missions then it recognises you completed phase 1 👍

Honestly, phase 2 was a bit disappointing. Nothing at all that sets it apart from doing regular bounty missions (that we've all done a million times) other than the keycard you runover to some station. Just a monotonous hoop you have to jump through to get one step closer to the hornet mk2 upgrade.

I just decided not to be bothered: If I could have access to an F7A MkII to melt and re-buy as it please me, it "might" be worth the stupidity of bunker cleaning and idiotic bounty hunt in an autistic mode, but since I'd lose the ticket once applied and I don't even know If I'd like the new hornet, it's just a waste of my time. As a solo player its really not worth the hassle of finding mates to try and complete all this junk

Hey if it's not gameplay you actually enjoy then I would definitely say don't bother. Personally I just find the missions really fun but if it wasn't something that interested me I wouldn't be doing it just for the "right to buy a ship" :D

Wow, SC content is really not needed. Just play the game and learn stop teaching unnecessary stuff. You wasted time and my time as well doing thus. I rather see you do some gameplay, shoot some stuff, shenanigans, etc. But not how to. It's boring everyone does it. GL
