You only end up feeling like shit for killing them if you grow an attachment to them, even when doing the Genocide Route. Without that, there's no reason to feel anything. Every enemy is nothing more than a stepping stone in your quest for power and progression. If they weren't strong enough to survive you, then they must've not meant anything in the grand scheme of things.

@@peteypete9357 What I mean is that it solidifies that feeling. And you feel like you're the boss in an rpg encountering a hero.

A better "feeling like a villain" game would be if the lines are blurred until the end. You go into undertale and the very first thing she says is "be nice to the dummy" and you get almost scolded for attacking the dummy. Say if all you knew about the world was "monsters are bad" or something, which is what people who only ever played RPGs thought back when Undertale was first released. Anyway the game makes you feel bad for doing bad things, while villains are always justified (even if it's just in their own minds) in the bad things they do. When it's just a mindless violence machine, that's more of an obstacle than a villain. That's just my take on it.

​@@SupHapCakbut you do feel justified to some extent or else you wouldn't do it, the genocide route is entirely optional and the game actively discourages it through both story and gameplay, the only reason you'd be doing the geno route is because you chose to and continue choosing to. It's not that you're playing as the villian, you _are_ the villian

Wait, I thought the No Mercy route was just killing every enemy that comes in your way (I think most people playing undertale for the first time and never hearing anything about it do this route first), while the Genocide route is when you intentionally look for everyone to kill.

@@juampisito I can attest that playing actual bullet hell games like Touhou, DoDonPachi, and MushaHimeSama makes nearly any of the dodging sections of Undertale trivial, and only slightly difficult at the most (Just seeing how Sans's fight went before trying him myself, I cleared Sans without dying on the first try against him). And Marine is known to play a bit of Touhou, (Though she isn't very good at any of them lol), so it doesn't surprise me she did better than Fubuki who doesn't play much of or possibly any bullet hell games.

Touhou senses were screaming to get out, and the normal bullet hell segments of Undertale are not that tough
