this is the first DC operator made by Overhead Door the Genie Stealth being the full equivalent to this operator was the first DC operator offered by genie. It uses a 24V DC motor rated at 3.0 Amps. This operator as well as the Genie Stealth competed directly with the Lift-Master 1280, the Chamberlain whisper drive and the Craftsman Silent Drive.

Sweet! There was another video of one of these floating around awhile back, but that was at least 4/5 years ago, and it wasn't a very good video either.. I personally think this was the last good operator Genie made before their quality declined, if Im not mistaking, shortly after they dropped the phantom, the Python/Chain Glide was launched... Id love to look under the cover of one of those just to see how it works (Mainly the limits), Ive never seen one of these in person so Ive never had the chance the take a closer look. Great video, Ron!

Wow I’ve never seen this opener before (well in the pictures) these machines are extremely rare where I live I’ve only seen maybe 3 in my hole lifetime

I have one, and it lost high speed several years ago, and lately when it is very cold it has no power and you have to help it go up , and even sometimes to get it down. What could that be? I lubed it up and doesn't help. Mine has be lt drive instead of a chain. Are there brushes in the motor that maybe need cleaning?

John Kittleson the motor isn’t user serviceable and I’m not sure if replacements are available due to the age of these units.

The reason you have to un screw light covers is because when the opener is in use it vibrates really fast. Your covers would fall off every time.

Thanks.....neat to know someone else on the planet has one of these. Ours have been bullet-proof for years and years....however, last week my wife hit 'Program' by mistake on our ACSDO Codedodger keypad...............now I can not get the Phantom to re-learn the keypad's pin. Tried everything. Reset/cleared both.....nothing. The OCDTR-3BX 3-button remote works fine. Bummer......any advice welcome. Thanks in advance.

Try changing the battery in the keypad first. If that doesn’t work, it could be a faulty keypad or receiver in the opener, however I doubt there is a problem with the opener.

I have this same opener. But I have to hold down the garage door opener button (no remote) so it can close. I do not have sensors. Any ideas why it doesnt close with just 1 push of the button?

It doesn’t close on its own because there are no safety sensors. You will have to add a set to get the door to close without holding the wall button.

How do I void out the remote for this unit? My remote was stolen during a car break in.

Press and hold the learn button on the opener until the led on the opener turns off. The remotes should be erased.

It should be under the back light cover, next to the screw terminals.

Do you how to rest these or tune them up using the micro switches? I tried to adjust mine and I ended up screwing it up and now the door won't stay. Does anyone know if I print out the instruction manual will it help me?

Dino 2112 the owners manual should have instructions for manually setting the limits.
