PSA: Stop buying skincare from celebrities! You wouldn’t buy a phone from a carpenter, or a car from a butcher. Tf. EDIT: For those saying celebrities hire labs/chemists to formulate their products - if I have absolutely no prior knowledge of how the skincare industry works, nor do I have any qualifications in it, do you honestly think me competent to hire the right chemists and labs to formulate top-notch products?

Love seeing a non-sponsored review of function of beauty since literally every youtuber is sponsored by them. I always get major greenwashing vibes from them though considering how the default option for their shampoo and conditioner contain silicones and all of their other haircare products do as well, yet they keep emphasizing how their products are 'clean' and 'eco-conscious'.

It’s true that it’s a little bit over priced but at the same time it lasts a long time and it gives you the option to have the products silicone free but as a curly my hair looks the best with them and to be honest I tried changing the hair goals in the three times that I ordered them and I noticed how the formula changes and how different in works in my hair so to me it’s really worthy. I guess that it depends on your hair needs like if drugstore shampoos work for you then it’s not going to be worthy but that’s not my case.

I tried it after all the hype and I stopped after 2 weeks because I couldn't deal with the hairfall...it was traumatizing. Fortunately I got refunded quickly. Switched to another regular shampoo and the hairfall immediately stopped!

While “skin whitening” in Asia does mean “lighten up the skin”, these terms are also often used to say “even out the skin tone”. I can’t say for sure it is what the led mask company meant, and I need to point out that I strongly hate this wording for obvious reasons, it explains why it is so often seen on Asian beauty product!

I wanted to comment the same, the mask looks like it is an Asian or Asian-inspired product, and in Asia whitening usually means 'helping with pigmentation problems, evening out the skin tone, helping with open capillaries etc', so I agree it would make sense

In a lot of cultures, lighter skin is more desirable. Shallow stuff like that is very common. I wouldn't be surprised if people purchased the product to actually lighten the colour of their skin

I've been into kbeauty for over 14 years, I've come to the realisation that whitening over there doesn't mean making you skin paler but rather removing imperfection and dark spots 😕

it's deffo to make your skin whiter in my experience. "You look like you work in a field" is a common thing for a parent to say to their suntanning child from what ive heard from my asia friends. :/ some times marketed as glow cream. When I told my mom I wanted to try light therapy for my cystic acne, she got me two giant red bulbs, two equally giant lamps with no shade or cover, and two pairs of sunglasses. We just sat there in my bathroom with our matching sunglasses on with the lights all off but the red bulbs, and she and I talked about life for about 20-30 minutes every night before bed. It was pretty great.

Girl…we are on two different planets with the UFO. 😂 it took me a full 2 minutes to set it all up, and you don’t need to scan the mask barcodes. You just got to “treatments” and select which mask you want to use. The app is incredibly user friendly and they did an excellent job. Also, no Russian for me…😂

Love your content. Also love the UFO. Lol. Led def does not have the irradiance needed to provide efficacy. But, the thermo and cryo are amazing for pore absorbing and closing regarding skin care. You can also manually use it without app. Little hacks here and there to find out! I use it with my own masks, over sheet masks; with their masks and over skin care. RE: the Foreo UFO -- you can actually use it without a mask (in custom mode, which allows you to choose the light color, intensity, and cryo vs. heat) or with any other mask (by just gliding it over the mask, or cutting a circle out of the mask). I really like using the UFO 2 on cryo mode under my eyes (no more needing to cool creams/devices in the fridge and then having them warm up in 2 seconds when they touch the skin).

i'm so glad that you make content like this and didn't turn into a sellout, you're someone who truly GETS what it's like to live with acne for years and not just falsely promote all of these highly successful commercial brands just because they offer you money or products or sponsorships in return. Like, the amount of youtubers, celebrities and influencers who try to sell a product that actually isn't great at all is so sad to see, especially when a lot of us acne sufferers are just trying to find some help. I have the foreo ufo which I did get on sale I absolutely love it !! Its very easy to use you just download the app and it walks you through everything and the pads are not expensive at you get a box of 7 for 9 bucks or 7 on sale . It is a great tool. I dont think she knows how to properly use it . You have to choose your language so its a great app and great tool ....she went on a unnecessary rant and you dont have to use there mask so I don't agree with Cassandra on this one...

I got one via a special kickstarter promo when it came out. Honestly, my experience of setting it up wasn't nearly as frustrating and really straight forward. However... I feel like the device is gimmicky, the masks it came with were too generic, and only recently they released some new ones that might suit my needs (oily skin). And yet, paying €20 for 6 teeny tiny masks seems absurd.

Her experience with the setup is definitely a one-off, I watched a bunch of review videos before getting the UFO and my own experience was nothing like this. I kept thinking what app is she using because the Foreo one couldn't be more simple 🤔

I use my UFO without the app all the time. If you press the button the purple light will slowly light up a circle with each press. Those lights indicate a different mask in the app (daytime, nighttime, green tea, what have you). When you get to the mask regimen you want, stop pressing. It will automatically start. After buying a mask once the UFO will remember that regimen. I cut out my own sheet masks and use those often. I know the UFO is silly and probably does nothing beneficial...but it is a relaxing ritual before bed that I enjoy.

she could've figured all of this out with a tiny bit of research 🙄 I don't find the UFO silly at all and you're benefiting your skin by masking regularly 🙂 It's made my skin less dry and reduced my redness which a lot of products I've tried before couldn't do.

I would love to see you review function of beauty skincare in the future. I just got some and I’m unsure if it’s a good idea, my skin is so sensitive, but it sounded like a good idea because it’s supposed to be tailored to you, like this shampoo.

I bought one pf those led mask. Girl, let me just said it changed my acne prone skin. And you can use the neck part without plug in the mask whole.

I only like to use the fenty skin sunscreen because it doesn’t keep me from looking shinny or greasy looking. If you know a really good sunscreen for dry skin that won’t make you look greasy after applying it I’d appreciate that :)

I have a "jade" roller that I use from time to time but I paid $1 for it at Dollar Tree so its probably fake jade anyways but it does feel good on the skin when I take it out my fridge.

@@RCGE24Just get your typical sheet mask from other brands but cut it up to fit the UFO2. I just cut it in 3 tiny square (slightly larger than the ufo size), so in 1 typical sheet mask, I would get 3 use.

The app worked well for me and you actually don't have to use it after you register the product.. After you learn more about how it works you'll probably find out that it is actually an excellent investment.. at least it's what I think about my UFO because it keeps helping me a lot to make my skin look better.. but I suppose we all have our own opinions about some particular product, only that they should be based on facts. I personally love the product 😉

The LED mask is not bad, I just pluck off all the metal bits and cut off the strap. Lay on my side on a pillow for 20 mins to kinda lean it on my face gently. Mine was about 20 usd 😂

Totally agree with your video. I do actually LOVE the Fenty skin fat water and face wash though. The sunscreen moisturizer is not for me but the other two items have actually given my visible improvements and don't break me out.

The companies are just busy cashing out on this creating a whirlpool of body image issues sucking all self esteem out of women. I'm on the privileged side of this and just sick of this mentality, don't even want to imagine what lies on the other side of it.

I bought something similar to function of beauty and damn, I got so much dandruff it felt like it was snowing on my head. The funny thing? The shampoo was supposed to fight dandruff. Also, it did nothing special, no foam and it was waaaaay overpriced.
