TerraFlex TJ Hand Throttle

Finally, I install a Terraflex Hand throttle on my Jeep TJ and show you how. One issue with installing a hand throttle like this is figuring out how to hook the linkage up when a jeep has cruise control, since all the slots on the throttle linkage are occupied we have to figure out a solution.

That bushing is a rubber foot for so many things like Heathkit radios, oscilloscopes and such. Collins, Hallicrafters, and RCA too. Too funny.

Thank you man for this video. I'm from Brazil and I'll try to do it in my CJ5, but with bike parts, because we don't have this kit in local market. But watching your video, I think I'll be able to do it.

@@EmbarkWithMark , as I said, I stopped in the bike shop and spent R$ 30,00, about 7.50 Dollars, and made my hand throttle. It's very simple and is the cheapest upgrade we can do in our Jeeps.

Manuals don’t have shift pattern plates. But they do have shift boots, and your right. Looking back, I could have totally done that. 🤦

Heat gun makes the rubber pliable, pops right out. Just don't get it too close or hot and cook the rubber.

There is not reason to take off the shift knob just split the rubber spacer the clamp will hold it together when you put on the lever

It comes with everything you need. I installed it with cruise control and did not have to buy any extra parts.

Use a oil filter wrench to take off the shift knob. Should work with some effort. Sure is damn hard to take off that thing

@@justingongora3834 I can see that working for most shift knobs. This one has a locking nut under that cap. It may work, or it may just destroy it like I did in the video anyway. I'll have to keep that in mind for future builds though, thank you for the added tip!

Very well, we use it all the time. It’s been through a lot of changes, including a transmission swap. Easily one of my favorite cheap mods.

Drilling a hole with a open manifold= disaster 😑

I’m not sure what you are getting at. The only hole drilled was into a rubber plug. The cable is sealed tight against that rubber plug. It’s more than capable of keeping out exhaust fumes if that’s what you are concerned about.

He’s far enough away from the throttle body plus his magnet trick. I would feel good about drilling that hole. But I do see your point and everyone should take that into consideration.

Believe he was referring to the wide open throttle body while you were drilling the hole for the cable
