Hey everyone, Kevin here. I figured I’d start a KZfaq channel that felt a little more personable as I brought you all along on my adventures. Florida can be a tough state to camp in. I usually camp twice a week from November until March with friends. I still camp through the summer, just not as frequently as other adventures seem to take up the long summer days. I work rotating 12 hour shifts that allow me to have off 14+ days a month. Combine that with my sense of adventure and I'm able to see what the states really have to offer. You should check for spring water seeps along the creek. That creek may actually start out as several tiny springs that all join together to form the creek. It will cost you less than $1,000 to develop a spring, a drilled well will be between $25,000-$50,000+ depending on depth to reach enough water. A tiny 1 gallon/min spring will provide 1,440 gal/day which is more that a household will ever use in a day.

Indeed, congratulations on the land purchase and the pending wedding. I had thought about buying raw land sometime ago, but the challenge of building was a challenge. I thought about the following , but never did it. Buying an old trawler type boat..boat with blown engine or other are almost worthless. But, inside they are like a small house with kitchen, bedroom, etc. Taking to the raw land and digging a hole filling most of it foam then placing the boat in the hole so it looks like the boat is in the water. Electricity either solar or generator with the boat's batteries; water brought in..most boat of that size have 50 to 100 gallon water tanks (use rain water catch too). The head usually is 20 to 50 gallons with a pump to outside, so build a septic tank system. Never did it but the scheme remains something which could be done. With three or four "yachts" in a BnB setup could be a winner. Cheers and good luck/RH Melbourne, Fl

Thank you. There’s lots of vegetation on that bank. We left all the stumps to hold back the soil. It just looks bare because it’s summer.

There’s plenty of vegetation on that bank, plus we left all the stumps. So the bank is safe. There’s more saplings coming up.

I cut them to open up the area. The roots are still there to hold back the soil. It’s easier to cut and manage them when they are smaller.

Becareful with that gate. If its a named road with access you can be sued even if you own both sides of the road. Counties get real weird about gates across public roadways. Rural N.C might not care but I would suggest calling the county if it is public road.

Congratulations on land and engagement. What county is that land in? I was just up in W. NC and fell in love with Cherokee county and Murphy in particular. Also, without getting too specific what did the 10 acres set you back cost wise?

We are almost 2 hours east of Murphy. Land is around 10-12k an acre for useable land.
