The last episode in this 2 part series I travel with @OverlandingEscape, to the Limpopo, South Africa, where we overland travel, and I find out if there is a wild side to South Africa's wildlife reserves and parks in the Limpopo province. In this episode we are in the Kruger National Park, and we fight with the Honey Badger.

Guys I came across this site this morning, and as an Australian and a keen follower of 4x4 YT channels from around the world, your channel is a ‘cut above the rest’. None of the other channels come close. As a Ranger Wildtrak owner, I reckon an overland trip where elephants , lions etc cross the road in front of you would be the best. Ryan, how about a walk around tour your Ranger and trailer setup? Outstanding.

Another great video those Thamboti honey baggers are becoming a big problem. They open the fridge so the fridges and pantry are all fenced off. Don't leave food in the tent they rip it open to get to the food.

Absolutely Gary, feel bad for them because if it continues the way its going, either they will have to be put down, reallocated, or, someone will get hurt, especially those with kids that aren't briefed in on these brawlers.

Thank you, and too true. Healthy respect for both, and a primal fear for them in the wild. However, the honey badger doesn't dawdle, no mess no fuss and to the point. These little fellas are rated top brawlers in my book

It's the sound of the lions that got to me, with you guys being at Tamboti, I drive a 2009 freelander2 4x2 and I think i can get away with the not so rough terrains... South Africa is a beautiful place that needs to be explored...

07:50 I think you meant to say ecologists, biometrics is the study of measurements and calculations related to human characteristics, it is a term widely used with computer science especially for authentication. This is by far my new favourite channle. As a fellow Bakkie owner in Zim (Even though it is a D-Max) I must say I have always been a fan of the Ranger and I love what you have done with it Ryan. Question - What are you supposed to do if you meet elephants (or any wild animals) whilst on the road? I am planning a trip to Hwange with my wife and could sure use some tips. Thanks for the great content to your team as well keep up the lekker work!!

Thank you Nathan, and there is nothing wrong with your DMax. Solid as they come mate. Cool, so with elephants the only thing needs to keep in mind is distance. 200m is a good place to start. If there are really young ones then give the Ellie’s more space. Normally the matriarch will let you know. Aggressive flapping of ears, trunk playing with grass, and leg bending are tell tell signs that you are too close. Always leave the car running and either reverse gear if Ellie’s are in front or second gear if Ellie’s are behind you. Rather view these gentle giants from a distance, with respect, admiration and with the understanding that with a breath of wind, an Ellie can change its mood to a not so favourable one. Yes, it is quality footage! And there is no shortage of brilliant overlanding opportunities in South (and Southern) Africa! Yes, Australia is a great place to overland, no question, but the experience is such a different one there is no point in direct comparison - speaking from one who has extensive experience in both places... A lot of Saffers would love to overland in Oz, and a lot of Aussies would love to overland in RSA and Southern Africa! Just as it should be!

Great episode guys. Loved it. I have great memories of the Luvuvhu River with my wife and daughter when she was a couple years old. The whole northern part of Kruger gives me goosies. Crooks Corner is the best. Thanks for bringing back some lekker memories.

I have been watching many of your and Edward Bath's videos lately. I have enjoyed all of them and they are all an inspiration. My 11 years old boy is crazy about your Conqueror Trailer. He has hinted at the idea that I should get one. I have to break it to him that daddy's double cab is a 2.2 4x2 (Mazda BT50) and not a 4x4. I partially regret that purchase too. But realistically, how far can a 4x2 take one? Can you recommend any of the places you go to that is suitable for a 4x2?

Tamboti Camp >>> Love going there to Tent 22 our fav >> Best way to stop the Honey Badgers is to put your Rubbish Bags in the Vehicle at night as the sun goes down ie empty Dustbins during their visits and next morning put the bags back in the Bin > If everyone did that there would not be a prob with litter and Badger wars at that camp at night. Rule no 1 Never antagonise a Badger as a human male by trying the male Bravado thing and trying to shoo them away >> he will neauter you quick sticks >> They Skrik for Niks
