Welcome to part one of my Overlanding the Oregon Owyhees in my Bronco series. This day was heavy one the driving, so I wasn't able to explore the area a ton. But I decided I would take the time and show you how I setup my Bronco for this trip. Hope you enjoy, and stick around because there are 3 more videos coming your way of Overlanding the Oregon Owyhees!

Great video! Took my family up to Lost Lake by Snoqualmie Pass last Saturday. The lake was nice, we stopped there for lunch. We tried to continue on around the loop on the west side of the lake, but got stopped by what looked like an old avalanche that hadn't melted yet (blocked the road), we did add some nice trail tattoo to the side of our vehicle though (road got really narrow with bushes on both sides). Then tried the route up the east side of the lake towards Mirror Lake, but beyond the mirror lake trailhead the road gets really bad and we don't have out lift yet, so decided to stop there. We live just off hwy 18 in east auburn on the hill, your video shows you driving right past where we live. :) We are trying to go out as much as possible right now before the fire/smoke season sets in.

I've got the trailrax TRMRR rack for my bronco as well. You can buy extra cross member extrusions and add them to the rack to fit the Roam box mounts or any other items that don't perfectly line up with the fixed locations of the cross members. They fit into the long slots on the main support beams. I was going to do that for my traction board mounts but ended up coming with a solution that I didn't need to spend the 50 bucks on another extrusion. I may go with a roam box for some recovery gear but I'll end up mounting it front to back if I do.

It's interesting that you deflate your tires for muddy conditions and use traction boards. Now me I'd air down a little, but I think that I would opt for tire chains on all 4 corners. Interesting thing is that of all the off roading videos I watch, non use tire chains except for 1 time a rancher used them on a Powerwagon.
@OFFTHEGRIND

Tire chains on mud? I’ve never even heard of someone doing that. Airing down is all you need to do and the traction boards are just in case I get stuck.

Subbed within the first minute (first OTG vid) and chuckled at the the taters & sprouts into the stove and sitting on the rocks (and adjusting) because that's me. Seeing that 13.2 mpg on the gauges made me cringe a little but then we're doing it for that 10% of the usage that brings us such joy. Be sure to check the straps holding the cases for wear and to wash them. Saw a great vid on abrasion and wear of dirty climbing ropes and it was eye opening. I was surprised to see the Kirkland Ford license plate frame. That's a simple piece of merch you could offer or you could support another channel. BTW, how was your buying experience with them? BTW, another PNW'er. Now onto Part 2.

That’s with the factory rack installed. The TrailRax system ups that to 300 dynamic and 850 static. This rack is endorsed by ford themselves so I have no issue with the weight I have on it. The ikamper is 120lbs and the case is 27lbs empty. I probably have 50 lbs worth of stuff in it
