Those first two 9370’s had an easy 32-35 tons of loose dirt on them, and those trucks with a 19’ steel bed like those ones weigh around 29,000 empty meaning they are grossing around 100,000 lbs on those trucks. They are already beat to hell though and If you know what to look for you can see that second 9370, the red one, is actually two trucks made into one, they cut the original frame off 4’ or so back from the cab and then took the cutoff rear ends and rear frame section from another truck and welded them together… this is common practice in South America, Jamaica and Africa where they’ll take an old but still decent road tractor from the USA, cut the frame behind the cab to do away with the light rear ends and air ride or reyco suspension and weld on the rear frame section of the last dump truck they wore out complete with 44 or 46,000 rears and Hendrickson suspension and then put the bed over on it. Granted most of those trucks obviously never see road use, most had almost lights and were busted up so bad the hood would probably start coming apart at 45 mph from the wind pressure. I guess my point is these trucks are WAYYYY overloaded and won’t last more than a few years even putting around on site like this but the good news is they’re going slow enough in a large enough open area with berms etc. that when they do break in half, snap a rear end housing or walking beam or loose a steer tire from the front axle or kingpins snapping they’ll pretty much just flop over or stop dead within a few feet and there won’t be any cars etc around them so really there’s no harm being done. Most of those trucks were so rough they’d be beyond saving in the USA anyhow especially since there’s nothing uncommon or rare about them. There are still tens of thousands of International 9370’s, ford L series, R and RD model Mack’s etc in the states in much better shape just waiting for one of KZfaq’s many experts who “would have saved these trucks and restored them to like new” to pony up some cash and get them back on the road.

Wanna know why we are safety conscious? Especially when it comes to trucks? Because they kill...very easily if pushed beyond its recommend load limit, it's also cheaper in the long run to stay within those limits and too not push the fuck out of it. my whole family work with trucks and heavy equipment, the amount of stories of either someone dying or getting injured from improper use of those machines is ridiculous. Long story short...they are bloody stupid

Yeah I love picturing my wife driving behind a dump truck and a huge rock bounces off of the top and kills her. But I know you will say well don’t drive so close and hat won’t happen. Do you know how far those rocks can bounce. Besides that rocks laying on the road to damage vehicles, cause accidents and kill motorcyclists. Don’t be so stupid.

do you mean the ones that has the tires removed?
@J.R.in_WV
@J.R.in_WV Жыл бұрын
@@rupe53 wouldn’t matter if they were removed or not nobody who’s actually driven a triaxle dump truck on site roads like this would ever put the lift axle down until they hit pavement. Running with the cheater (that’s what we call a lift axle around here) down on roads like that You can’t steer very well, your steer axle brakes are constantly locking up and most importantly you loose traction super easy on the drives any time you hit a hump, bump or crest of a hill. These trucks were all grossly overloaded except the one European cabover with dual steer axles…that one was loaded reasonably and I’d say he was the only one that was actually going anywhere other than on the jobsite since his truck actually had working lights and wasn’t falling apart.
@rupe53

@@J.R.in_WV ... the reason I mentioned the one(s) with tires removed is that's a direct intension to drive on the road without the extra support. I have been to Jamaica many times and it's already obvious to me there's no enforcement for overloaded trucks.

I cut my teeth driving 70s model Terex Euclid. Ten times as loud. No brakes at all .The dozier operator would leave a bit of material from each load piled up for you. The only way you could get stopped and dump . I've seen a few Detroit motors run backwards. Exhaust bellowing from the air filter intake and the exhaust pipe taking in air. I personally have operated over a dozen haul trucks and pan scrapers without a hint of braking. What was even worse? Most of the trucks didn't have the boot that channeled the exhaust fumes away from the cab and out the frame of the bed. I think I still taste it. I was a human diesel particulate filter.

Being honest here yes they are overloaded either because they are tandum or the drop axle isn't down/ missing parts. BUT since all of them are site trucks the brakes obviously are working and most have what sounds like three stage Jake's . I must admit it would come play in the dirt with your guys without any extra fear. They show they are competent as well as courteous I say good job boys!

I’m quite sure a lot of people leaving comments have no CDL’s therefore not knowing the weight capacity for these vehicles
