This is folly, sir. I predict a short journey, some "unexpected" weather event, equipment malfunction or mishap, and an expensive rescue effort in hazardous conditions.

Keep up with your goal and faith Andrew, you'll make it because you just decided to; your determination is your main power source. Make sure Dryrobe will also provide you with insulated socks: several pairs of different sizes, some thinner for skin contact and some thicker for overall wrapping within the shoes; that means the shoes shall be accordingly oversized and insulated. Same thing eventually with the rest of the body clothing and full covering. Can you position some solar fabric inside the dome with a battery and ups and heater system? Eat vitamins and appropriate energizing food, even flatulent ammunition's such as Cassoulet, mashed potatoes, everything armful and energizing. No ice rocks in the beverage made in either South and/or North of England. We anyway stand by you Andrew, best of luck to you Noble Gentleman from England, Pierre Alain from la Gaule.

weather is going to play a significant part in this venture . And please tell me you intend to spend at least 5 days and nights in the boat, as part of your sea trials ? I was also wondering if you'll have a chaperone or standby vessel in case of an emergency ? with that said i do wish you the very best of luck and truly hope you achieve your task . To quote a friend of mine , " that's a small boat for a man with big balls " !! Godspeed my friend .

Usb heat pads/insoles, power packs charged by additional solar panel. Can also be used all over body to alleviate chills, I'd also take an electric massager with the three balls as you'll need to think about cramps and aches. Have you got a UV blocking film over your bubble? If you'll not burn. Also dry bags for everything. Everything inside and waterproof the rest, silicon any wires and connections. Imagine if it filled up with water. What would you not like to get wet, everything inside is my guess. But if that bubble isn't covered with a UV protective layer, I hope you consider this before you set out. Good luck !

I'm a cold weather camping ninja. Wrap ya feet together b4 entering bag with anything dry n insulaty u have. Not 2 tight ya on a boat n mite need a quick exit. Cold flow from air blast. Anything as a wind stop (none permeable membrane )eg plastic bag. On the outside will stop cold air pushing out warm. Good luck ya'll need a bit. I already prey 4u loving your work

Have a roll of reflective foil, like you put against a car windshield, to keep from cooking yourself and your head (above, on the clear hatch) Also, to have a break from all the sun . . Fellow sailor.

a vessel than was built to fundamentally incorporate a body in locomotion (like a bicycle/pedalo) would keep the feet warm and be great for all body maintenance. But I realise that would both need a lot more calories in and that pedaloes are terribly inefficient , even to use pedalling to generate electricity would be a waste of effort , especially with all the sun available. But purely to maintain the body it would be incredibly valuable.

...I meant 'everything warm and energizing'. Perhaps a Nasa space blanket used as reflective pad for solar light inside the cockpit or a body warmth lining within the clothing could be useful....?

A fantastic adventure. I wish you luck and that you succeed. I can't help but feel that a spinnaker type set up isn't a great idea. It limits your direction of travel. Better a conventional sail but I am no expert and could well be wrong. You could have perhaps had a spinnaker or kite as well as a conventional sail.

A 1-meter boat would make so little headway going upwind that there's just no point. He'll be going more or less the same direction the whole time he's crossing the atlantic, and it will be downwind with the prevailing winds the whole way. It's a highly specialized boat made to work on that particular route.
