@@kimballbaumgarten8357 They'd be scripted segments, so whats the problem? I'm just sick of going through transitory segments at awkwardly slow speeds, even if Sonic is boosting and it feels like there's an invisible force pushing against you. The current levels are far to short and the whole thing is too scripted. That's the problem, imo.

I feel like Overpowered Sonic is maybe close to being as fast as Sonic canonically is, being y’know, super sonic speeds and whatever. It is an interesting prospect though-people talk about how Sonic doesn’t actually hit the 768 mph needed to go at the speed of sound, but the game wouldn’t be as fun if he truly did. I don’t know, it’s cool, I guess

Well he does almost always run faster than sound, otherwise he'd be running slower than most bullets. Going past the speed of sound doesn't really damage the environment around something.

Sonic's speed is capped below the normal speed in quite a few levels, thats why the Zavok fight is still ok, you can see his arns aren't fully out when he is running

that has to do with the topview physics which are separate from the normal physics. which i chose not to change because it would break it to unplayability.

Actually that's false. In Colors, you *do not* gain boost from rings and only get boost from *certain* enemies.
