One thing that doesn't get brought up in the Brady Burrow comparison is how they carry themselves and how they lead others. Guys who have played with them would run through a brick wall for them, and they always carry themselves with the expectation of victory. They don't celebrate close wins, they look at them like it should have never been that close.

Nobody is crying about it. It's a legitimate complaint most fans have due to it being unfair for a coin toss to play a significant role in the result of a game. "Learn to play defense"? You realize it's a known thing that defenses get worn down over the course of a game, right? You realize some teams have more or less balance between how good their offense and defense is, right? The idea that the game can be determined by one side of the ball in a sport with 3 total and 2 most significant ones is stupid. Let's just play a sudden death football game from the beginning since it's not broken. "Learn to play defense" after all.

I have nothing to cry about, but make complaints of faults in the way the NFL does things that makes the game less exciting and demonstrably worse as well as, in my opinion, bringing a level of illegitimacy to some game results- which I don't like as someone who likes to watch the NFL. Not my fault you can't think with any nuance or depth whatsoever to understand the difference between legitimate complaints and "crying".

The overtime rules are still a problem. The team that has won the coin toss is 10-2 in the playoffs overall in this current format. That’s a problem. The next time it happens there will be outcry again. The reason people are comfortable with the way it went is because both teams got a possession. But a system that exists that allows one team to not get a possession is not a fair system.

I never understood why they don't just play 10 minutes. It's not like hockey where both teams are touching the puck. It would make the decision making more interesting do you go for 3 points if your 55 yards at 4th down. The problem with o-t rules that nobody never mentions but defensive teams that win by 3 points don't stand a chance because (bad offense, but good defense) you win tight games - so often you are more likely to get 3 points then 7

Amazing that Mahomes reverted back to the middle of the season when they struggled when teams forced to go to check downs they were not doing it - i thought they fixed it but here it was again Where was the coaching? The Bengals were basically saying run the ball - rushing 3 is the opposite of 8 men in the box - they were saying rush, run the ball, dump off the ball! If they are rushing 3 - 2 linemen are free and so is the TE - get the running back to follow them for big gains! AND THE CHIEFS WOULD NOT DO IT! Amazing! Tom Brady would have happily taken those chunk yards! Sadly, Mahomes might be the Marino II(albeit with one ring) or Rodgers II - lots of stats but few titles to show for it

As a Bengals fan, I was surprised too; why not run the ball, why didn't Mahomes run it himself too? He was quite successful in the first half with using his legs (to go up field, not just run around behind the line of scrimmage). The good thing is, the way the Bengals went down the field they would probably have scored a TD and won it, had they won the toss. In that case we again would have heared that Mahomes would have won had he given a chance and that opinion would dominate the media for years and for many seems as if he won, and for me thats why the rule needs changing, so after both teams get one last chance drive each and if its still tied after that, have a kicker shootout and perhaps then its also not a rarity that a kicker in a game called football is drafted (1 was drafted last draft and we all have seen what he did for the Bengals).

That was the stupidity of the chiefs not that the Bengals did anything great - you are rushing 3 guys, they can't cover everything - the foolish Chiefs linemen just stayed where they were, they were not blocking anyone, and standing in the way of Mahomes! When Mahomes wanted to scramble, his OWN lineman was standing before him, blocking him for scrambling! All these linemen had to do was double-team one or two of these guys allowing Mahomes to leak out - even better a running back could have picked up big gains! It's the opposite of putting 8 men in the box to stop the run Putting 3 linemen and dropping everyone is simply inviting the other team to run and these foolish chiefs never did!

There had been a few other big losses by the home team in the 1980 AFC championship and 2006 AFC championship games had terrible home losses to wildcard teams but the teams were blown out from the start. Having the away team come back from an 18 point deficit in some ways could be considered worse than getting blown out.

Ah yes, a single legitimate post season OT win from the team that lost the toss. NOT AN OVERREACTION he exclaims! What a load. The NFL is stacked towards offense. Make the clock matter in OT. How about we play out this game we love so much, and DON'T play an entirely different game in OT? Ridiculous take. Also, didn't RE agree with Larry David when he said it should be changed? That was THIS season. Just pandering to his guests I guess.

The problem with one possession each, is the second team to get the ball would have an advantage knowing what they need to do. For example, if the first team scored a TD, the second team would be in constant 4 down territory. I personally think OT should be two 5 minute halves.
