I wanted to thank you for talking about moving out of Utah. My little family moved to Minnesota 9 months ago, mostly to just experience life outside of the "Utah Bubble" and while there are good people and the experience was really great overall, its been extremely challenging and has put into perspective that we are "Mountain people" and that where you are from does have a huge impact on where you fit in. So we decided to move back home. Im positive that because of our experience, we will be able to put the Mormon culture aside and focusing on building the community we long for is going to be so much easier now that we have perspective 🙌 thanks again for all your hard work. Hearing you talk about it really did help me feel like we are making the right decision to move home.

I’m so glad you love LA! My husband and I met on our mission there… got married 5 yrs later when we both finally moved from Utah back in LA. He studied film and does video too. I feel such a kinship to you and your life even though we have never met lol. We are in Texas rn and would move back to LA in a second if it made sense financially. Also close to family in Tx which is nice. Totally feel you. We definitely don’t want to settle where we are and are trying to figure that all out.

I see work crushes when married the same way I see finding someone attractive and use this analogy: you own a car, you love your car, but that doesn't mean you can't recognize good features/looks of another car while driving down the road

I totally agree about your comments on progressive Mormons. I have a soft spot for them because I was there for so long myself. Similar to the comment from the girl worried she’d lose her relationship w/her mom I think sometimes being in the prog morm space is the safest place to be as you deconstruct and re-evaluate your relationship and the ramifications of leaving.
