Farrell is not a fly half Number 10 but a traditional inside centre at Number 12. It's a shame that Dan Biggar out played him at the last Wales v England games in Cardiff 2019. Also it seems that Biggar is having a far better RWC 2019 than Farrell.....

As SquideRugby said, Beauden Barrett is possibly not the best fly half in the world, but he is definitely the best player playing fly half. Farrell may be, may not be the best fly half in the world, but he is by far up there with the best!

Why do people even doubt his ability. He would be first choice in most international teams and he is ours. Our best captain since Johnson. Unfortunately some of the planks he has played with have let him down. Otherwise he would have captained a world cup winning team. A fantastic captain we should be proud of.👊👍

A welll deserved tribute. Much maligned, but ultimately, a fly-half willing to put in a monster(illegal) hit when required. He deserves a tribute for his kicking entirely! Just a great player, an obvious captain to boot. You just simply have to admire him.

Not the best one but easily in the Top 3. It depends by the game-plan. At Test level he is more suited at 12, considering that he is rarely flashy with ball in hand and there's less space to break the line, with his defence and passing/kicking skills he is perfect at 12.

Whatever Farrel's best position he's one of those players you want in your team. My opinion is that England play better with OF at 12 and Ford at 10.

Richie would not be in the side if McKenzie was available. The only reason he was brought in and Barrett moved to 15, is the same reason that Jordie Barrett made the squad when there are better players in his position left at home... goal kicking. Because Beauden has days when he cannot hit a barn door from 3 paces, Hansen has FINALLY realised that it might lose them a game, so he has had to shore up the goalkicking department and the reshuffle was the best way to do it.

J B I get you’re point about McKenzie and kicking, but the way he reads the game and has run the Saders over the last 2 years, combined with his appearances for the ABs so far, mean that I think McKenzie would struggle to start anyways. As with Jordie Barret, I get why he is at the World Cup because he genuinely is a good athlete and an intelligent player. The person I feel the most sorry for is David Havili for not getting called up (and Laumape)

@@Karma-qt4ji actually both Mckenzie and Mo'unga were needed in the side but since Mckenzie was Injured Steve Hansen decided to play Mo'unga at 10. Mo'unga Is a world class player and plus he's lead crusaders to three titles and is kicking is flawless

BTW, on the subject of best fly half in the world, we cannot just look at the fly halves in the best teams, but at all fly halves. Japan have an excellent fly half and, IMHO, one of the best has to be Sanchez from Argentina. But that is just my two cents.. XD

There are a few tens battling it out for that title. They are fundamental to their teams so ultimately who ever wins the world cup will probably have the largest claim to be it. I hope Farrell takes both titles in the coming weeks! 🌷🏴

Linette du Plessis I think he is a incredible fly half, but he’s a really good centre and at times England haven’t quite had the 12 to accommodate that position, whereas sometimes they haven’t had a 10 quite at the same level as Farrell. My opinion though: Cipriani at 10 and Farrell at 12, unlikely to happen mind!

I would agree with you about him being a 12 rather than a 10. He is a very good player but if I was picking the England squad I wouldn't have him as the first choice 10.

For me him or Pollard in terms of a traditional 10, but he can play world class at 12 aswell, much like barrett can at 10 and 15. For me thats what puts Barrett and Farrell above Sexton and Pollard. Also statistically Farrell has been the best all round player of them all for the past 3 years.

Dan Carter is retired, cannot be the best in world. Also, I'd take Wilkinson over Carter anyway, defensively better and the exact sort of personality you'd want in a dressing room and on the training field.

Barrett can’t control a game from 10 when Ford and Farrell can. Barrett relies on Aaron Smith to control the kicking and positioning game

for the majority of his caps Biggar hasn't been goal kicker for Wales, halfpenny has. I would argue bigger is still a better kicker than farrell

Dafydd Attwood halfpenny - 772 (87) so that point is out the window. Biggar does have a slightly higher kick accuracy, I’ll give you that, but we aren’t talking about kick accuracy, or even kicks, we are talking points per cap, which (compared to the likely competition people would suggest as a better fly half) he is unrivalled for, even by Boden Barrett. Yes he got lucky with some questionable tackles, so have most of the best players out there. Ppl need to get over it and stop hating on anything English which they can find an excuse to
