i must say playing the beta, the impacts of any form of dmg feel very satisfying, they really nailed how good combat feels in this one.

I wish you had the option for real time combat and turn based like Pathfinder tho.

Or you just do the Perun thing. Run the Navigator-Officer-Lady with 5 other officers. Get 5 extra turns at the beginning of combat, cause about 400 Damage before any enemy can act. A very pretty and well written game, just don't play it for the balance as there is none.

Hahahaha, this is definitely the video I needed in the Alpha playtest. Thankfully the beta has the beginning of the game so I relearned all the stuff I'd forgotten since I last played a 40k rpg (Dark Heresy) back in 2010.

Quite literally the only thing that's GW related that I am interested in and excited about. Everything i have seen of the game so far has showcased the care and attention you are putting into the game. Not only that, and probably more importantly to me at this stage, the atmosphere, writing and mechanics are the closest thing to the 40K of old that I sincerely miss. Hell i was even fortunate enough to have some friends who had been in the hobby for long enough to actually get to play a campaign or two of the original Rogue Trader (as in the magazine that started it all) version of things. I am cautiously optimistic about this game, but legitimately hyped and I can 100% assure you that if you manage to pull off what the initial impressions of the game have given me I will be getting absolutely everything I can get my mits on associated with it.

Hey there Owlcats, maybe you can help? I got the game for PS5 and I've got one problem - Argenta's Firearms Mastery doesn't seem to be working. It states that you should get a number of AP-free single shots equal to your weapon's rate of fire (so that's 4 for Argenta's bolter) and that it removes the 1 attack/turn limit (otherwise you couldn't get multiple free shots). Yet when I activate the ability and fire the first single shot, it does cost 1 AP, and all other attacks become greyed out. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? As I said, I'm on PS5.

Im super hyped for this game and dont want to nit pick but the combat animations seem a bit stiff. Keep in mind the bar for turn based combat games has risen high these last few years. Hoping for the best.

The khornate marine is adjacent to 2 enemies, and the two protagonists are adjacent to the marine, but not each other. Wrong footage? or is the text mistaken? does surrounding an enemy make parrying easier? or does forming a shield wall make parrying easier?

it looks like @Owlcat Games went away from the traditional pen&paper rpg called Rouge trader / dark heresy after basing the system in it and imported elements from D&D, Pathfinder, xcom and Chaos Gate. All in all I think it looks okay from what i see here even if my personal prefference would have been a pure rouge trader setup. I hope it works as well as it seems to here and look forward to playing it myself.

The 40 euro package in the website, does it include the game?

I didn't play the beta much, enough to ascertain that I will want to play the game seriously, not enough to spoil my first playthrough feel with then-buggy state of the game, so I'm not intimately familiar with the system. But it does seem a whole lot more reasonable than Pathfinder system which I think is one of the worst parts of Kingmaker/Wrath (loading screens and bad implementation of minigames aside). After all, it's the worst of both worlds: complexity without payoff in depth - pretty much pure numbers game (especially on unfair where the game throws encounters like a pack of three enemies each with strength higher than an ancient dragon in tabletop rules, at level 5). Although at least character-building is sort of satisfying in 3.5e/PF, which cannot be said about AD&D/5e that don't have even that going for them, hopefully Rogue Trader delivers on that front and not just combat resolution. But I'm pretty excited.

Why is it "missing" wounds and not "sustained"? Is it like a WH feature? Are characters go around carrying those wounds in the bag or something?

I just started wotr after bg3 launched and omg I'm overwhelmed (in a good way). Thsee are the games made with love rather than greed. I wish owlcat gets more and more recognition that so they rightfully deserves. I like the gender preference, not making everyone bi like they do in most of the games now. Would have loved if Minagho or Ember were datable tho.
