Ordo Xenos are probably the people most likely to have non-violent interactions with Eldar. Most are pragmatic enough to understand that talking to them can sometimes make the problem go away without any added cost, and if it doesn't you can always kill them later.

The sister of battle will definitely be a mod. Common misconception is they aren't allowed to have romantic companionship. This is a lie. Most of them are just to busy worshiping big E to have time for it.

But Octavia and Arueshale was romanceable

They do that a lot. Two of the most liked companions in Kingmaker, Linzi and Amiri, weren't romancable for some stupid reason.

@@adriann3634 Yet clearly we wanted more options then just demon turn good (Which is lame as hell because she would have been great for a demon path but that goes nowhere) and I believe Oct is in a relationship so you have to cuck her orc boyfriend and that's just messed up.

But, it looks so bad though. The combat is stilted and lacking, nothing like pathfinder. The little we've seen of the story has basically no hooks or any compelling features. And the companions might as well be cardboard cutouts fulfilling the basest roles of what warhammer characters should and could be. I would much prefer Owlcat to scrap this whole thing and instead focus on pathfinder. This is a waste of time and money.

yeah, the only grave issue with PoTR, imho, was part of the pathfinder 1.1 system it had to use - the hug pre buff, so tiresome I had to use a mod to automate. Other than that I loved it, so I feel this one will be a huge hit.

@@robinbugge4240 I was worried myself, but now that I played the Beta I can safely say that they have attained a good mix of tactical strategy and building and not super slow turns. But them again this is a very different approach from WOTR so I understand that it might not be for everybody tastes.

What they have kept utterly secret is…. it’s not an RPG at all, but the first WH40k dance simulator! Can you pull off the TechMarine Two-Step, or the Sororitas Shuffle?! Real veterans will try out the dangerous Chaos Can-Can (banned on over 30,000 worlds and most space stations)!

And I also love that they picked Rogue Trader as the theme of it. There's so much interesting lore in that RPG and it should give them a lot of freedom.

Weird that they would go with an XCOM-like, since it's not similar to what they've built before, so commercially less attractive. I do admire their gumption though. Russians have got balls the size of planets.

Question then: what is the combat vs rogue trader aspect of the game? Is there a story? Do you set your own goals? Do you actually trade? If there are mission, are they randomly generated? Can you loose companions because of decisions outside of combat?

Space Marines are powerful yes, but psykers are terrifying. Abelard may possibly be the strongest companion sheerly because he's a psyker.

0:16 - Abelard Werserian - standard human so no way he can stand up to space marine 0:32 - Idira Tlass - depends how strong her powers are but theres no small chance she could kill the space marine 0:47 - Pasqal Haneumann - from just the looks (him not being full mechanical tentacle monster)he most likely won't win 1:02 - Cassia Orsellio - I dont exactly know how strong are navigator but I would bet theres no way she would win 1:17 - Heinrix Van Calox - this really depends, how talented is this inqusitor, how talented is the space marine, how much experience they both have etc. but the inqusitor a psyker so I wouldnt be suprised if he wins, in my opinion hes the most likely person to actually kill a space marine in straigh up combat 1:31 - Jae Heydari - standard human so no way she can win 1:44 - Argenta - most likely wont win but who knows miracle may happend (literally) 2:15 - Yrliet Lanaevyss - shes a sniper so... ofc thats just general overview from a "vacum point of view" and theres a lot of "ifs" and "its depends"

He IS the most powerful companion, yes, but by the point you recruit him most of the others are also "as close as it gets".

If it's based on the rogue trader ruleset (as I believe they've implied), then the core differences are decent base stats, and having higher melee damage and damage mitigation (Unnatural Toughness and Strength). Powerful, but certainly not overwhelmingly so.

People were rightfully pissed and Owlcat removed it in less than 24 hours along with any data gathered. Let's be honest. As much fun as horny 40k stuff can be, trying to incorporate it into an official product would just feel like pandering.

To be honest, this is one cRPG where not having a pointless romance option would be very good. Too many RPGs are taking it as a must these days - everyone must have several options for you to bone. Why? Can't we have a story where connection between the characters is NOT sexual? No romance, just grimdark world and characters bonding over something else. I suppose they will probably have some, but this setting definitely does not need it and might be better and more mature for it. I like how they tackled romance in the Pathfinder. It took half a game to get anything resembling romance, it was tasteful, made sense, you didn't have endless choices (characters had personal preference to sex and moral alignment). Compared to Larian where I haven't even left the first map and practically every companion gathered wants to f my brains out like a horny teenager. Did I do anything? No. I actually didn't even take some of them with me questing, but still I am getting it. If they absolutely MUST add romance into WH40K storyline, then I hope they stick to their method tried and tested in the Pathfinder. Make it meaningful, make it adult and serious. Don't cheapen it and make it Ridiculous like Larian did.

And if it is in, then they would like it to be "good". Yeah, some aspects of BG3 romances are whack and part of those seems to come from bugs. Classic Larian.
