Owner of barge in Grand Traverse Bay now has one year to move or sell it

Don Balcom was somewhat unexpectedly back in court Thursday.
His infamous barge is still in Grand Traverse Bay, where it's been moved around for years.
He's faced legal charges all along the way, with hopes from both sides that a resolution could be reached. Thursday we was called back into court, and when UpNorthLive News spoke with him earlier this week, he wasn't quite sure why.

This is the court system, trying to bully an 89-year-old man dismiss all charges and reimburse this man for all the service fees and lawyer cost that you have caused this man over nothing Michigan needs to pull their head out of their ass and move on to something a little more importantand your schools and your education system are far more important than harassing an 89-year-old construction worker you have lowered yourself to the deepest of lunacy

I wouldn't bet money on that. He's a tough old bird and at 89 he looks better than a lot of 50 year olds I've known.

He should get paid by the state for dragging him through the mud. AND the prosecutor should be fired and imprisoned. Could be going after chomos or traffickers but they see this old man as an easy target. Sickening. Someone who gave 70 years of his life to build your infrastructure and he has one minor thing happen on his barge and all of a sudden he’s a FELON?! this is why nobody believes in justice anymore, because there is none.
