Before we passed it on to the new owner, we thought it would be a good idea to summarise what its been like to own this V8 BMW E38 7 series. We discuss the highs and the lows, the driving experience, and what it's been like actually owning this classic luxury car!

Carphonics can update an OEM nav system to use carplay. Worth thinking about if you're a fan of this era of BMW.

Is that Baris? Definitely a good upgrade for someone wanting the OEM look…. I don’t own this car anymore so maybe the new owner will do something !

@@carchaps You can still have that done with your E39! I've got it in mine, and you can switch between carplay and the old system at the touch of a button.

@@cockshield I did want to do this! Unfortunately the previous owner installed aftermarket head unit and butchered the loom for sat/nav audio etc….. hopefully its still restorable for a fair price

I had this car when it was brand new . It’s nice till 80k miles . Then from there it’s emptying your wallet . The gearbox isn’t too reliable and the vanos is very loud over 80k miles .

How the previous owners used it makes a huge difference too! I find with these cars when they are old you get lots of little things to fix but so far no big big issues. This model also doesn’t have vanos so that’s one less thing to worry about 👍🏻 Thanks for watching
