Ben Chesterman Not with low k's and untouched you can't. they are dropping, but you still need over 15k for a decent example. I bought a fresh import 6 last year for 20k, but had rego, roadworthy, new clutch, rotors and pads, full original service history and import papers which is the only way to verify mileage. Enquired on a few cheaper, private ones, but they'd all had at least a couple owners since import and NO import papers - runaway I did!

+Beauchee I've got a Evo 7 GSR, its a great car its actually harder to drive slow then fast. And it consumes a lot of fuel 40L tank, get about 280Km. But nothing beats the sound of rushing air through the turbo.

the bpv has been blanked off. in other words dump valve delete. perfectly fine if you have balanced components. ie following the correct upgrade path.

MrLoStReNeGaDe so every time you close the throttle whilst there's boost you damage the turbo? having the turbo decelerate rapidly puts extreme stress on the turbo, which is the purpose of the valve, to release excess pressure when the throttle is closed so the turbo decelerates gradually not by extreme boost pressure with a closed throttle. why would you do that?

+Jotveer Khangura you can do a complete evo 4 swap for around 10 grand or less depending on where you get your parts from. I recommend buying a evo 4 or 5 already imported into Canada and swap it over to a usdm chassis at a friend's house (if you have any up there) or pay a experienced shop but that might cost you more. once it's swapped over to the usdm chassis you can drive it over np. but only if you have swapped it to a usdm chassis first. that way you don't break any import laws. or you can wait 25 years from the date it was manufactured. eather works.

Yeah. I thought about doing the same for a gc8 Impreza but decided to slowly peace my car together as jdm parts cost a arm and a leg just cuz they are jdm :p but if you want to do something like this I recommend doing crap loads of research and reading fourms. There is not a lot of info about evos as everyone prefers Subaru's to evos but I'm the other way and want to build a evo 4 or 5 just cuz I can :D. Mirages can be picked up for dirt cheap right now and you will have a one of a kind car here in the USA. But u recommend starting small before you dump $6-7000 on a evo donor car. You can also learn a hell of a lot about swaps and cars on rs25 forum as there is like tons more info on Subarus than evos as everyone just buys a evo 9 and mods it hahaha. Wish you luck and if you need any info I'll gladly give it to you. Years of research defanantly pay off and take it one day at a time. eventually you will comprehend how the whole engine works. How turbos work, sometimes less is more. Etc etc. I bought a legacy turbo with a blown piston (seller clames it was a bad head but I think other wise) and use it as a parts car to boost my ej18. Nothing like building a car for less than 1k. It probably won't last long but who cares, I'll just drop a ej20g using the legacy turbo wiring harness. :) my next project is a evo 5 or 4 swap btw :D Subaru's are totally overrated btw.

subi's have amazing boxer sound.. I love them too, but 95-01 models (gc8 and my favorite model) has only 5spd gearbox wich many owners say is shitty and when you put ower 300hp it just breaks .. subi's must be with 6spd gearbox , they are better and stronger but that's the models after 2001 and for sure best are the STI versions.
