Surprised you didn't mention the uranium meteor showers in the radioactive ocean planetoid. They are a great source of uranium, and can me mined by dupes automatically by leaving crown moulding blueprints where the tiles form, which will make the dupes mine that spot if any natural tile forms.

to move beetinies into rockets, just make a 2x3 vacuum room with insulated tiles as floor. For short journeys even a 1x3 box will do.

i honestly never reached point where i would need enriched uranium, though it might be useful for future. on the other note i generally like idea of, how to call it, industrial critters? just critters and plants that technically can do job of machinery, but using them have certain benefits

They’re useful around the mid game when you start needing more power. A nuclear reactor is super easy to build and creates a lot of power sustainably. Give it a go.

@@theonus_4483 problem is that on current save i would first need to get into rocketry, because there is practically no uranium on starting asteroid and no beetas at all, and honestly so far i prefer to not bother with managing multiple colonies at once, it may end with catastrophe

@@countsudoku6305 You'll likely find the nearby planetoid that the teleporter leads to has lots of beetas and uranium. A good option to consider is simply creating a bee keeper base there via the teleporter. You can send them food. You can create a little base for 1-3 dupes, make them a SPOM and use the hydrogen for all their power needs. They can be your bee keepers and just keep sending enriched uranium home. This is how I did it in my last playthrough.

The funny thing about these little guys is every time I seen them they have hundreds of KG of enriched uranium before I'm anywhere near ready to make a reactor. That's why it's important to explore early. I was hoping you'd talk about their gather range, which seems to be about 7 tiles from the base. Good videos anyways

All my bees died on my most advanced colony. I think the game glitched and bees were creating hundred Celsius radio active waste when dying, and my -20c room became 10c and every last criter was gone.

I would also like to see some setups for safely harvesting the enriched uranium. For example, is there a setup to vent in carbon dioxide during a harvest period and then pump it back out to let the Beetas work again once the dupes are out of the area?

I'll have to leave that one up to you guys to invent something. I think it is very difficult to fully automate that kind of system, but you could certainly come up with something manual which might not be too bad since you have to manually ask them to collect anyway. Carbon Dioxide aside, I think 2LegitCity showed a way to get the enriched uranium out of the hive from below using some doors to trick the beetas.
