Ryan, thanks for the excellent clean nicely shot video explaining the replacement of the oxygen sensor. Your attention to detail explaining how to raise the stop-tab on the wire connector when obviously the push-button wasn't releasing the connector apart. Additionally, the Toyota branded plastic clip was new to me and your precise explanation and demonstration how to open and close this clip was marvelous, although you choose to replace it with a zip tie, I reused it. The use of anti-seize on the threads is a must and something I use with every repair. Wonderful video. Bill

Thanks, Ryan. Well done and explained! Question/thought.... is there a reason one shouldn't just cut the wires on the old sensor to get them out of the way? Not reusing them or the old connector, so...? Just a thought bc I was looking at the O2 sensor wrenches that have a "slot" to, I guess, be able to slide the socket over the wires. Perhaps some vehicles you'd need to keep the old wires/connector, but in cases like this... why bother? Anyway, thanks again and great explainer vids!!

Ryan thanks for the info. You ask to leave a comment on the nightmare upstream o2 sensor. I have changed that o2 sensor was seized up to make an even bigger f***king nightmare. Solution I came up was a can of Freeze Off from O'Rleys auto parts and O2 sensor socket set. The short 3/8" socket and breaker bar was the only way . FREEZE OFF it broke free rather easily. The toughest after that was unplugging it 😮. I hope this helps everyone out

Would the "Denso 234-9009 Oxygen Sensor, Black" sensor replace the "Denso 234-9009 Oxygen Sensor, Gray" sensor?-- What is the difference? Also, would the "Denso 234-4215 Oxygen Sensor" (downstream) be a good replacement for the Bank 1 sensor of a 2003 Toyota Highlander v6 3.0l? Thanks for your informative vids!

Denso part 234-909 for bank 1 and 2 sensor , only difference is wire pigtail longer on bank 1. The grey sensor I saw on Amazon : I didn’t trust for fear of counterfeit and bought genuine Denso from Rockauto nearly same price

@@2carpros Hi, I have a Toyota 2001 Highlander (2WD, 4 cylinder) with about 160,000 km. My CEL has gone on and off intermittently, can be on for a couple of days, then off for a week. I've eliminated the possibility of a loose fuel tank cap. Currently the CEL is off and I'm thinking it may be one or both of the O2 sensors because my fuel efficiency is around 8.1 km per litre. Is this considered normal (or poor) for the age and mileage of my vehicle? What I'm curious about is......Would a faulty O2 sensor yield a constant (continuous) CEL or can an intermittent CEL also indicate an issue with the O2 sensors?

Great video. I thought it would be much harder to get to them. So much so that I kept driving until I clogged the catalytic converter. That is far more expensive and harder to do. Don't neglect your maintenance or you will pay dearly for your sloth fulness.

Are this engine solid engines? I am thinking of buying a 2003 toyota highlinder with a 3.0L it has 116,000 miles. And i am just concern , since the 3.0 L they use on the tacoma and 4runner had issues.

Thanks for great video and explanation. Will change this week. Just couple days ago (05.07.21) I got code P0155 (which is bank 2 sensor 1) on my Toyota 2003, go to the shop and mechanic ask me 400$ total for replacement including labor. I tell him - will come back later, but meanwhile check Amazon, and see this sensor (denso) for 130$ (on eBay even cheaper 50$, but I don't want take a chance with eBay staff). The greedy mechanic want 270$ just for labor!!! BTW if he ask 300$ I probably will do right away.

Yeah that's the right part. Did you replace them both? I'd try the other one BUT it might be a different part so look into if it has a front and rear o2 sensor or just the same for both. Thanks for watching Ken!
